I really don’t think Dabo has any choice but to sign a few O-Linemen in the portal for next year
I’m sure we could all talk ourselves into believing that it’s a developmental position and the snaps this year will make these guys all Americans next year.
Those are all ifs. We need viable options on the OL next year and it’s a fact of life - offensive linemen get injured. You can bet on at least losing one starter a year to injury and 1 or 2 that miss time during the year.
Also, there needs to be a healthy fear that if the underclassmen don’t step up their play, Clemson will go to the portal to fill the gap

This narrative is getting old. For the fans that remember we tried to sign three Offensive lineman out of the portal the past few years. They just decided to go to different teams.
We offered
O'Cyrus Torrence Olusegun Oluwatimi MecKade Mettauer
They all just decided to go elsewhere

What we do know? 2 portal 4th string QBs in, 10ish players a year out. We ain’t trying very. The 3 teams we’ve lost to all benefited from the portal. Years past we beat them but they’ve caught up, not wholly from the portal, but it’s definitely helped them a lot.

Ok, fine - don’t know Jack
What I do know is that we have zero starters from the portal and every other team in the top 25 has at least 2 starters from the portal
So we are either not giving it 110%
Or we totally suck at it
If I were on the coaching staff, I’d say we didn’t give it 110%

Yep. Given Dabo's comments on the OL, I think you see us get more aggressive and more targeted in our approach this year. I am sure they have already identified potential targets and will get better at signing these guys in the future.

Clemson does not need offensive linemen…
Clemson needs some BIG, tough, bad ### guys who will knock the holy sh!!t of the opponent and laugh when he does it!!!!
You will not find this kind of player in the sisters of the poor parochial school in LaLa land Texas!
Football is a collision sport…. Won by tough guys who truly enjoy creating havoc on game day.

Theoretically..... they could. If they opened up holes so big and our running backs never get tackled. Unless the boogie monster causes a fumble, every play would go for a touchdown.
Congrats on your 1969 ACC Championship Coot.... the only championship your team has or ever will win.

You might be surprised what a little leadership will do for a team. The Clemson Tigers doesn’t have any…. But it’s out there

Yes
Less sacks and more tackles by DB’s (less by DL/LBs)

ITS THE COACHING

It doesn't matter who we get, they will never get better than the day they step on campus. That is a testament to the great High School coaches out there and the clown show that we have.
We don't need All Americans, we need a coach that can take 2 and 3 stars and make them better. We get pushed around by 1 stars all season long. It's absolutely unacceptable at this level.

It's a "win now" world. The time available to develop young players has shrunk. If it takes too long, you start losing fabes, which heads to losing recruits and NIL $$$.
Get ahead of the curve or get left in the dust.
