It's a 4 of 4 star remake of the classic which aired back in the '80s. Two of the episodes are now available with two more coming, one May 5th and one the 12th.

Watched the first 2 episodes Wednesday and the wife and I both really liked it so far. In addition to Hulu, I think the series is airing on the FX network every Tuesday night from now until it is over (10 episodes total).

Shogun is based on James Clavell's 1975 novel so I imagine this is will be a self contained, single 10 episode season as I don't think Clavell ever did anything more with the story after the original novel.

There are differences as compared to 1sf airing decades ago.

Yeah. Really enjoyed both episodes.

Got the wife and I thinking about other good movies that were subtitled instead of dubbed (or at least we watched the original language versions). Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon and Hero (the Jet Li movie) the first two that came to mind. All's Quiet on the Western Front probably the most recent.
