Once more into the breach: Well, Ladies and Germs, once

again today I venture out to Palmetto Bone and Joint in Chapin, in hopes that the docs will see fit to shoot me up in this aching back and provide some sort of relief, temporary though I know it be.

Most recent Exa-Rays show "a WHOLE LOT" of Arthur and the other Ritis brothers, according to the back doc, in addition to the collapsed discs, scar tissue from five previous lower back surgeries, and protruding bone spurs. Yes, it IS just as bad as it sounds.

Those of you that will, please pray for me that God guides these doctors, and they come up with something that can provide some help. It used to be that lying down provided me some relief, but now, even that causes pain, which is what drove me back to the specialists again. And for those who know I golf, not anymore, not since about last July. So, my wife has even lost her favorite excuse to blame these problems on. Life really ain't a whole lot of fun right now.

I suppose that is one reason I like watching the gals play softball via the ACCNx whenever possible. It makes me happy to see SOMEONE being able to play their sport, and enjoying the heck out of it, without obvious pain.

UPDATE: Well, there is no joy in Mudville. At least not for

awhile. Earliest appointment to get a shot is April 17th, so, I am still suffering and playing the waiting game. The doc gave me a song and dance about not having access to the fluoroscope today, or he would have done it today, which just made me feel that much worse. So near, and yet so far.

:(

ps,
The doctor had access to an MRI, a CT Scan, and Exa-rays. When he got done showing me all the crap I have wrong with my back, on all those different things, I felt good for a 200 year old man. Problem is, I am only 68, so a lot of chronological catching up to do. I have evidently achieved "natural fusion" via U-loop looking bone spurs on one side of about three different levels. Literally looks like C-clamps on one side. When I enquired about having the C-clamps surgically removed, he said they it would grow back in under a year, and surgery could make the situation even worse. So, no go there.

:( :( :(

right there with you, docs there told my options were 12hr surgery with less than 50% chance of doing any good, PT or just live with it ...

My last visit to the Orthopedist I got good news and bad news. The good news was he didn't recommend surgery, the bad news was he didn't recommend surgery. Praying you will get good news on your next visit!
