One has to wonder what is going on in the closed rooms around ACC HQ

They have to see the writing on the wall. Are they reaching out to potential members to replace the football schools? It seems they should be concentrating on being a basketball 1st conference (kind of like they are now) and thus looking for decent BB members to bring into the fold.
It is hard to fathom that they have all their eggs in one basket (lawsuits, GOR) and are not at least looking ahead...but then again based on past performances???
As this gets further along, who will be subpoenaed? Swofford, Phillips, baby Swofford, and ESPN exec's may all be a little weary of taking the stand.

when they added Cal, Stanford, and SMU. The key word is, of course, kinda.
When Clemson and FSU leave, which is inevitable IMO, the league won't drop below the 14 teams they currently have, but could still prompt ESPN to renegotiate the TV deal for less money since the league only two marquee football program will be in another league. Could also result in the ACC losing its Power 5 status.

us not being in the ACC hoops tournament. of course it isn't really any much different than the previous 70 year's where we effectively weren't in it as far as being competitive

Hopefully some genius can find a way to keep the conference together. Find some way to close the money gap between the conferences. I don't see it happening, just being hopeful.

Have each member school ante up $5M/yr (believe that comes out to $105M)...require the ACC HQ to move to half a share (that adds another $20M to the bucket).
You then make payouts from that bucket based on the TV ratings your school generates. Any school above the conference median viewership gets at least made whole ($5M min payout); the top 2 or 3 eyeball catchers could make much more.
