Online Recruiting Question

It appears we have done such a great job with the offensive line recruiting we may have a dilemma. We have 3 commits, and I am reading we are only taking 4 or 5 total. From reading articles about those that were here this week and are not committed it appears Waldrep has us at the top and Chauncey also does. We could only take one if we are saving a spot for Sanders. How would the staff handle this? If any above info is incorrect let me know. Thanks.

I think you oversign if you have a shot at the #1 overall prospect in the country at a position of need. Things will sort themselves out.

I believe if our staff knows exactly who they want, they may decline to accept a commitment from anyone else. If we accept a 4th, my understanding is we would accept a 5th in David Sanders.

Would be interesting if we took 5 top lineman.... I imagine one of them will get hurt and need a redshirt. One or two might be deep enough in the depth chart where we could steal a redshirt. But it would be a dillema if 3 or 4 of them come in and start in 3 or 4 years when they leave and we wind up with a vacum b/c its going to be hard to recruit guys in 2026 or 2027 if they all are starting/playing.

But.... all that said.... its a good problem to have. We seemed to handle things just fine with three and four deep at DT the last couple of years.

If they can get Short and Sanders they'll make the numbers work.

You can't pass up that kind of talent if you hope to return to prominence

It could also force some others to transfer if they think they'll be passed on the depth chart, Everything would be set by August regardless, they can afford to over sign if it meant to get the #1 OT.
