Opinions on Jack being back in the program?

I for one like the move. I think it’s pretty classy and he has a wealth of knowledge to pass on to these players!

Jack knows a lot of baseball. He loves Clemson and wants to see Bakich succeed.
All of the people acting like Jack is going to be some control freak or cause problems don’t know him.

so long as he doesn’t make Bakich tighten up and choke in big game situations like he did, it should be a plus.

I think that was a fine gesture. He will add some knowledge of the game. Good addition in my opinion.

Jack Leggett will always be MY favorite Clemson baseball coach. Having jack back with the program is righting a wrong. Don't care what capacity, but I'd like to see him associated or working with the program in some form or fashion until he wants to retire. We are a better program with Jack Leggett than without him.

smarter than Dan Radacovich.
Jack Leggett should have never been fired, it was a dumbazz, classless move .

We are bringing back a guy who has elevated his feelings above the good of the program. Seems he was/is bitter over being fired instead of thankful for years of opportunity he was given. I think his behavior reeks of entitlement.
Having said that if the new coach and AD are ok with his presence and want this type of demeanor around our program then it’s their choice.

That’s the way I see it too. Jack, at least in his last ten or so years, made it about himself.

think it will. I personally wouldn't have done it, but guess what, nobody asked me! I just pray that Jack Leg stays in his lane. The last thing we need with a brand new baseball coach is a behind the scenes power struggle. (Or, as the Old Timers would call it, Charley Pell 2.0)

It's a situation that can get nasty really fast. It all comes down to Jack's ego, can he keep quiet when things aren't going well. I appreciate what the new coach is trying to do. I assume he knows what he's doing and it will all work out.

Coaches clinic recently Jack was there, he’s big on the history of Clemson baseball and the legacy and guys seeing Clemson as more than just a stepping stone to professional baseball. He supports Bakich, but stays in his lane. Any coach could learn something from JL, but that doesn’t mean Bakich is going to do everything the JL way!
You would be hard pressed to find a better infield fundamentals coach than JL.

I think he can be a great mentor and offer support for our players and coaches. If he tries to overstep (which I don’t think he will), Bakich doesn’t strike me as a guy who is going to let somebody tell him how to run his program.
