Orlando Sentinel article on UF and the QB.

It may be behind a paywall. Sorry if it is. The gist of it is UF apparently offered him 13 million bucks to sign and he did. Now the collective offering the money is having second thoughts.

Sorry - it is behind a paywall.

Didn't say.

I'm guessing that if the contract was actually 13 million bucks it was filled with incentives and the kid doesn't like the incentives.

I find it hard to believe that any collective would offer a 4* or 5* kid 13 million bucks and he's never even taken a snap. People can't be that dumb.

Brad Brownell: Only Larry freaking Shyatt has a WORSE overall winning percentage among Clemson basketball coaches since 1975. Let that sink in. It's Larry Shyatt & then Brad Brownell.

What’s the Daytona Brach News Journal say?***

I knew things were out of hand but 13 million is insane.***

What I’ve gathered across the interweb

He was set to go to Miami who was offering him a $9 million NIL deal. Florida came in at the end and promised him $13 million. He signed with the Gators. Now it appears they don’t have the $13 mil they promised him and he and his family are mad about it and he’s considering going elsewhere.

NIL is killing college football.

That's ridiculous...

$13 million for a 17 or 18 year old high school kid who has never played a single down of football at the collegiate level. NIL will absolutely be the ruination of college football as we know it.

Sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together.

I hope this blows up and he sues the collective, the school and the coaches who brokered the deal. Maybe even the NCAA. I hope it gets super ugly, heck, maybe even the Supreme Court. Anything to get some real rules in place. I doubt NIL will ever go away now that it is out so all we can hope for are some monitored and ENFORCED rules.

How is Clemson going to survive with players who are playing for just a scholarship and the opportunity to play in a Christian faith program with a development program to prepare the young men for a successful life after football when others are receiving big money to play for a program they choose only for the money. Sounds like professional football to me. Go where the money is the best.
