Maybe Geranimals - but why is there no movement on offense

Sep 19, 2022, 5:45 PM

like in seasons past? Used to be lots of motion pre snap. Just curios.

Only thing I can come up with is, the coaches must not trust

Sep 19, 2022, 5:49 PM

the players enough to think we won't get penalties for two guys in motion at the snap, or some other penalty based off it. All that "Window Dressing" was actually one of the GOOD things about Chad Morris offense. As he said, get the defense looking where you want them to, instead of where they should be looking.

Yes, the pre-motion, window dressing or eye-candy used to be a staple of our offense. It kept the D guessing or at least a bit off balance and not just lining up and coming straight at us. We saw much less last year and hardly any to none this year. Unsure if it’s part of our “vanilla “ look or completely scraped from the offense?

That's a great explanation. Now I wish someone would explain why every time a successful offensive staple from the past (post routes, jet sweeps, motion, etc.) we've scrapped comes up the only explanation seems to be that we no longer have good enough players to execute.

I'm beginning to think we may have missed on our entire offensive roster. That's a lot of misses.

Good point. Maybe they forgot.

Anybody got Streeter’s beeper number?

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I don’t understand it either.

Motion and up tempo are two easy ways to keep the defense off balance even with a simplistic philosophy.

the only time we go up tempo, is when we hurry up to the line of scrimmage and we end up running it up the middle. When I see our offense run up to the line I know its going to be a run up the middle. Guess who else knows it...yep, the defense.

I watched the UVA/Old Dominion game. Guess what, the only time UVA ran up to the line of scrimmage to get off a quick snap was when they ran it right up the middle. It was stopped everytime.

If i can notice it, it is way to obvious.

Maybe a bunch of the motion in the past was a waste of time or maybe we will see some this week.

I am sure it is an oversight by coaching that only

You’re right, they know everything.

That’s why they have us ranked as the best offense in the country, right?

Is knowing more than you (or any TNet user) the same as knowing everything?

Just curious if they gain over 500 yards without all the motion is it worth as much as 500 with the motion.

Is 48 points with motion worth more than 48 points without it.

That was exactly my question. It looks different, that's all. It isn't criticism, it looks different. I don't care if they do the hokie poke when they line up (although that would be a lot more motion).

Yeah, I'm gonna base all my speculations and suppositions on these first three games that we were expected to win. I'm sure to hit the nail on the head.

On what OTHER games would you base your speculation?

Tony Elliot and Brandon Streeter Clemson Offenses have always been trash. Even the Clemson offenses they were players on.

Go to the LSU National Championship game.
Go to the Ohio State game.
Go to the Georgia game.

I love that in your mind pointing out that they lost to the #1 team in 2019, #2 team in 2020, and #1 team in 2021 is really owning those guys.
