the wrong cards. Then we need to get a couple of guys who can power the ball and forget this finesse game. We are not very good at it. Today, I saw a batter lift a can of corn on the infield with two outs and a man on first. The batter stood at the plate and eyed the pop for a couple of seconds before making a half hearted run to first. The runner on first kind of meandered to second. You know infielders have been known to misjudge or drop pops. the runners should have been on 2nd and 3rd had the boy been dropped. Of course, the pop was caught but two players, the batter and the runner quit early. The coach said nothing to either one. Both players were veterans. You can talk small ball or finesse ball all you want to but we are not getting it.
