I wouldn't doubt at all that Swofford was getting kick backs for what ever deals he was making in behalf of the ACC the closer he got to Retirment, and I personally feel sure that he got paid a bunch of money with the deal he maid with Notre Dame during the covid season when ND would have been up crap creek with nothing that resembled a paddle if not for that awesome sweet deal Swofford made to ND. Notre Dame was in a place that the ACC needed them in to get them to join the conference in FB, and Swofford let them get away when the ACC had the hook set and ready to reel them in before Swofford cut the line and made a private deal for himself.

T-Netters, I really do believe that's what happened, Swofford made a personal deal for himself and left the ACC hanging without anything in that deal that would have benefitted the ACC for helping ND survive during the covid FB season. There isn't a member school in the ACC that could've ever gotten a deal as sweet as the one Swofford made with ND. I'm thinking that deal was mostly between Swofford and ND, and it probably boosted his retirement funds 3 or 4 times more than it would have been if not for ND getting caught between a huge rock and a hard spot without a FB schedule to play with all the changes being made to scheduling during that covid season, and Swofford bailed them out for a cost that helped no one but himself and his retirement plans!!! The best thing about cash$$$$ sales/deals, they are almost impossible to trace and prove....

Swofford was not a good commissioner but the ACC was built on Basketball with a lot of smaller schools. The TV deal is based on viewership, not the number of natties won. So in this respect he was never going to get a top tier deal.
