The difference between "pee-can" and "puh-kahn" is similar to "Bless you heart". It all depends on the situation and the meaning you are trying to convey.

This Lowcountry boy says pee-can.
I saw a quote one time that was a supposedly from one of the largest pecan growers in SC. Basically said “they are pee -cans when we pick them and puh-kahns when we sell them.

It's Dolphin[El Dorado, if English ain't your 1st language], dammmmit, just not Flipper.
Here's a couple nice dolphin.
Now, I'm not saying the first 2 fisherwimmins don't know what they're doing, so don't go there. They seem like good people with a lot going for them, but if they're really good at what they do, you know, big game fishing, then they go with the chartreuse, camouflage bikini, so they can sneak up on 'em.
No matter how you like it, that's a nice dish right there.

I knew I had seen the chick in the second pic on some Bluewater fishing shows before which is same chick in the sexiest angler post. Wasn't sure if other pics were her or not?

My uncle had an orchard and he said, “I grow pee-cans. But I sell pu-kahns.
As a teen, I lived in added bedroom that required walking to the other end of the house to the bathroom. So, I kept a pee-can under my bed. I choose pu-Kahn’.
