Perhaps a better subject line is "Podunk County in Texas

pulls books on farts and butts from County Library" instead of making it look like an all of Texas activity.
Once again - Texas ain't banning anything. Anyone in Texas, including any one of the 22k people that live in Llano County TX, can freely buy those books from any number of bookstores anytime they like. My wife and I routinely gave our young nephews and nieces "Walter the Farting Dog" books so I know they are readily available if one desires them.
Having said all that - I think it is stupid for the Llano County Library to pull these books but most Public Libraries have some level of freedom to determine what books they have on their shelves and what books they don't. Maybe they needed the shelf space and the check-out rate for these books and those of its genre were really low? My county public library routinely removes low interest books to make room for new ones.
Regardless - if the people of Llano County want these books back in the Library then make it an election issue and use the local elections (county commissioners, mayor etc...) to determine the community's library standards. Taking up docket space in the Federal Court system with this seems a bit extreme (and waste of valuable court resources) just as Llano County's over-reaction to possibly shutting down the Library all together in lieu of putting these books back in circulation.

Well, that's an absurd spin on it.

When books are CENSORED from a PUBLIC library, that's banning them. And it's illegal.

a hardcore graphic book of pornography by deciding not to carry it - you now consider that banning and illegal? Who knew that the mere fact that a library refuses or otherwise doesn't carry any book for any reason it is now considered banning. Guess we should start taking our local public library to court because there is a lot of hardcore porno they ain't putting out on their shelves or even carrying in their "private" collection...
On second thought - Nope - I think your take above is the most absurd of the ones stated in this thread...

We aren't talking pornography, are we?

Because none of those books are pornographic.
That's the BS with this book banning (and yes, it's banning so y'all can quit with your intentional spin). Y'all are claiming these books are pornographic but they're just kids books with nothing of the sort.
Do I need to explain obscenity law (Miller vs. California) and how your egregiously hyperbolic comparison doesn't apply here?

What educational value does a book on farting leprechaun’s have?
I don’t disagree with the judges ruling, but I think that’s a stupid group of books to spend money on
