Perspective on this team and the rest of the season

If you really think about it, Cade is a Freshman in football terms based on reps/games played. There are some Freshmen, but there are not many, who can come in and start right away at QB in a top program. I agree with many that he wasn't ready out of the box, but we can't expect to have a generational QB come out of every recruiting cycle. Like a young but promising wine, this one needs time to develop.

This year is simply one where we will get to "grow up" some great talent on both sides of the ball that will pay dividends next year. I'm not throwing in the towel on this season by any means; I'm saying next season is the one that can really be special and we are simply making the investment now in advance of a good return next year.

We had high hopes for this season but reality bites. We have the fortitude to deal with the disappointment and still salvage a good season, and then be really optimistic about what lies ahead.

I'm as frustrated as everyone else about a number of areas, but I do believe this wake up call will ultimately be answered, and better days lie ahead.
