Please stop with the talk of going to hostile environments

Sep 8, 2014, 11:23 AM

Anyone who has actually played sports knows that after the first couple of possessions, all of that is gone. It's loud, but it's supposed to be. It's not something that causes someone to freak out and have a terrible game, and it's not a reason to keep a better player off the field. Ridiculous, something in fans heads to make them think they are involved in the game. Put in the better players and stop getting humiliated by teams with a pulse

Will all respect I have seen crowds win games. The best was

Clemson's homecoming in 1980. VT had it won. Our crowd took over and we won a game we should not have won. There are other instances where a loud crowd can help a team win.

But is that really the reason to keep the best QB on the team off of the football field? The reasons get more and more ridiculous. Cole has been a back up for 4 years, for a reason, and now is no different. He should understand that his team needs the best player on the field

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Are we talking about crowds or QB's? I was just responding

Sep 8, 2014, 11:32 AM

to your point on environments.

In response to all of the fans on tigernet saying don't throw him in the fire at FSU. Hostile environment and all that junk, one of the reasons to not put in Watson

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

those YMCA soccer environments can be tough***

I've read some of your posts, believe me I know what dumb looks like lol

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Well, you are correct, I do call out people who are even

Sep 8, 2014, 11:37 AM

dumber than you...but you're getting closer with each post.

Sep 8, 2014, 11:42 AM

Really got me there lol. Come on people, do you really think fans decide games and not the 11 on the field, get out from behind the computer screen and think ab if you were talking to a large group of ppl. Please tell me y'all honestly don't believe that people in the seats determine a football game!

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

No one said thay determine anything

Sep 8, 2014, 11:45 AM

But they certainly play a role.

If they did not then playing at home and playing on the road would not provide any noticeable difference in win percentages.

2024 orange level memberbadge-donor-20yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Yeah, the fans had nothing to do with this ....

or countless moments like it in Clemson football.

To think that an environment like that would not affect a freshman in his first game is indeed ridiculous.

badge-donor-20yr.jpgbadge-ringofhonor-revdodd.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

OK. So playing at home is the same as playing on the road

Sep 8, 2014, 11:36 AM

Interesting argument, I'd love to hear your logic behind that argument.

Re: OK. So playing at home is the same as playing on the road

Sep 8, 2014, 11:39 AM

Never said that. Read my post again and don't add words to it. After the first few possessions, nerves are gone. Players play the players, not the fans. Guys want to play in front of big crowds, it's not scary. Alot of big time players will tell you, going to somebody else's house and winning is the best.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I think you're arguing everyone's emotional state of being

Sep 8, 2014, 11:43 AM

is the same for everyone...which is asinine. Every player is not the same and does not act the same in similar situations. They're human beings and completely fallible at any given moment...

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: I think you're arguing everyone's emotional state of being

Sep 8, 2014, 11:46 AM

You just made a new point of why Watson should be the QB. Watson is that guy that it doesn't effect, I.e. coming in the game first possession and scoring a TD, and Cole is the guy who doesn't score against a meaningful team and hits 3-5 yard routes all game for 4 and 5 yard games

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

So you're saying the crowd does effect Cole and not Watson?***

Sep 8, 2014, 11:53 AM [ in reply to So you're saying the crowd does effect Cole and not Watson?*** ]

Nope, never said that either. Not the cool calm and collected Cole who has been so calm running the scout team for all these years. Seriously, I didn't say that. Just discrediting the ppl who make that an excuse for Watson not playing. Bc it's obvious him going in on his first drive that dumb stuff like this doesn't affect him

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I just thought by you saying...

Sep 8, 2014, 11:56 AM

"Watson is that guy that it doesn't effect," would imply that it does affect Cole.

But regardless of what you're saying, I think Watson is capable and we'll continue to see more of him in each game as the season progresses.

My only concern for FSU is ball security, Oline play, and play calling. Tackle all three of those concerns and I think we'll be fine.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Hostile environments (ie playing on the road)

Sep 8, 2014, 11:43 AM [ in reply to Re: OK. So playing at home is the same as playing on the road ]

Either are or are not different than playing at home.

Your assertions seems to be that they don't make a difference.

I've seen years upon years of examples to the contrary.

Re: OK. So playing at home is the same as playing on the road

Sep 8, 2014, 11:44 AM [ in reply to Re: OK. So playing at home is the same as playing on the road ]

Not that I care, but why the TD? Because I'm making everyone who has only watched from the stands feel irrelevant? I'm sorry to hurt feelings, I didn't mean to pick on the little guys, I know y'all are the ones who pay money to the program

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

It is stupid to suggest fans are irrelevant.

Sep 8, 2014, 11:46 AM

But no, I didn't TD you. You have an opinion and are welcomed to it, though I disagree with it.

Re: It is stupid to suggest fans are irrelevant.

Sep 8, 2014, 11:51 AM

Oh no it's cool man, and thanks I respect your opinion as well. I just don't understand, it's so clear who the better QB is. I have never went out of the way to trash the coaches, I just laugh at all of the ppl who defend Cole when it is obvious he doesn't have what it takes

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I've seen nothing to suggest Cole "doesn't have it"

Sep 8, 2014, 11:53 AM

Or alternatively that Watson is prepared to handle an entire game as a starter.

Not to suggest I know either to be true or untrue, but I think you are making vast assumptions here based on very limited in game data.

2024 orange level memberbadge-donor-20yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Are you saying I don't matter?

Sep 8, 2014, 11:37 AM

and this whole time I thought I was making a difference...

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I disagree with the crowds, but I that doesn't mean I

Sep 8, 2014, 11:37 AM

believe Watson would get rattled.
