Talent is not the problem.

Talent is not the issue. Back when Dabo first started building the program. We used to get a lot better production from lesser talented players with 2 & 3 stars. How we are getting less production from more talented players, the four and five stars. What changed?

The only answer that it can be is, the coaching. The lack of hard coaching, and fundamentals. We have grown soft and lazy, which far too often the case when you have a period of success.

I believe it all started when Jeff Scott took the job at South Florida, especially on the offense of side of the ball. Then was exacerbated by the loss of Brent Venables on the defense. The team just does not have the same level of hunger.

If I were Dabo. I would try everything to bring Jeff Scott back into the fold, ASAP, at least that opportunity looks to be possible. Unfortunately, Brent is gone forever. A once in a lifetime kind of coach.

Problems in any organization are traceable

to the top; i.e., as you said, to our staff.

I believe, first and foremost, the root to be a lack of discipline. Further, that is directly on the staff, as well as team leaders. Part of the staff problem IMO is with the relative youth and inexperience of several. The fact is our HC has to get tough with all of them, and they in turn get tough with the team.

Some pundits worry about excessive discipline. I ask, "What in the heck do you think some hard-nosed DI at Parris Island would do to recruits with their heads up their asssssses?" My friend, that is precisely our problem, and way too much of it. These are grown men, all over 18, all eligible to be drafted and sent to Parris Island, where, I promise, the DI's would bring down a rain of thunder on their behinds the likes of which they couldn't imagine.

Every single team member has come to Clemson and agreed to give us 110 percent efforts on that frigging gridiron. Some do, most don't. With our talent there is NO DAMMMMM EXCUSE for what we are seeing...constant fumbling? dropping dime-balls? missing assigned routes? failing to protect our QB? missing tackles? ad nauseam? HORSEFRIGGING BULLSH*T !!!! The message to the staff should be, "PUT A DAMMMM STOP TO THIS CRAP OR I'LL GET SOMEONE WHO WILL..." Period. End of freaking discussion....

compared to our 2015-2019 years this team's TALENT is ATROCIOUS............compared to our 2015-2019 years this team's COACHING STAFF/DEVELOPMENT is ATROCIOUS.

we lack "ELITE" in both camps.
