Problems.

I’m pretty sure we can all agree that there are some problems going on inside Clemson Football. Uncharacteristic mistakes and lack of effort to name a few.

A big one is we as a fanbase and recruiting department have looked way too far into how many stars a recruit has next to his name. We have all gotten excited when a ‘big time recruit’ has committed to Clemson on Twitter. We overhype (along with the media) these players that are SIMPLY NOT AS ADVERTISED!

Couple positions..

DL- Mascoll, Davis, Ruke. All have been on campus for 5/6 years. They look extremely lazy off the ball, out of shape. They are not playing with that edge like they use to when they were underclassmen.

LB- we look great in a Mel Kiper Draft Board but we aren’t good. Trotter is slow not agile. Carter hasn’t been impressive in my eyes. But hey, they were 4 stars and 5 stars coming out!!

QB- many got extremely excited because they thought we had the next DW4 or Trevor. Very mistaken.. He is a project and has many flaws. He can’t see the middle of the field let alone complete a pass. He doesn’t know how to play within the system and take what the defense gives him. He was number 3 on our recruiting board. Behind Ty Simpson and Quinn Ewers at the time.. he struggled last year with LA Tech and Furman.. and Tennessee. But hey guys.. he was a 5 star from Texas!!

WR- Stellato, Brown, and Williams are the best 3 in that room.. by a mile. Beaux can’t catch a 50/50 ball. He is a possession WR. He is good for a slant and a dog couple times a game. That’s it. But hey.. he’s a 4 star from California! We are 0-3 in that state..

We have missed on some guys. Todd Bates left us in a bad spot and Sorrels has no clue what he’s doing. We miss Turnipseed!! The past couple years in the misses of recruiting has caught up. It was a matter of time. ( WHAT GOES UP MUST COME DOWN).

I don’t look much into recruiting as I use too. Simply because I looked at stars and would get let down. I do believe the 2023 class and the 2024 class can be very special. (IF THEY ALL DECIDE TO STAY). Those groups show a lot of promise but we will see. If they come in thinking they are better than what they are and get complacent.. it will be a repeat. If they come in and work their butts off and play with some passion for that Paw. We will be in the convo every year.. Welcome to the new age of college football.
