Just traded their only threat at the plate, Justin Upton, to the Padres. WOW!!! They're just folding up.

They always do that, its like if you play to well for them they don't want you. They never lock up the good and throw out the bad, they do the exact opposite.

Not confirmed but at least 1 of their top 3 prospects. 1 being Max Fried. Big lefty.

This shows most of what they will get. They are still working in prospects, but that's all they get. No real big name in return. A typical Braves trade.

I guess all that patience on trading Upton "payed off"...Only prospect note worthy here is Mallex Smith

Not looking good for Braves this season but Freeman is a threat at the plate too and so is Gattis.

The Braves have been entertaining trade talks for Gattis too

At one point Houston was very interested in Gattis but the Braves insisted that Houston take BJ Upton as well and the deal died on the vine.

Yup...Mallex Smith looks to be decent...apparently steals the h3ll out of some bases in the minors...
So that frees up $14.5m to our payroll......annnnnddddddd its gone!!

Rebuilding farm system. Fried has never pitched above A ball and is coming off Tommy John. Mallex Smith looks promising as future OF.

Left-hander Max Fried, shortstop Jace Peterson, third baseman Dustin Peterson, outfielder Mallex Smith will be heading to Atlanta in exchange for the 27-year-old outfielder and a low-level player, per Heyman.
This is an awesome trad if this holds up.
