...hardly ever works for positive yardage yet we try it again, again, and again. Same as last year.

Meanwhile Miami had a 5.5 ypc avg. Their OL dominated the LOS, ours didn’t. Plain and simple.

They rushed for basically 200 yards. That 80 yard play puts the numbers out of proportion.

That being said.... in the 4th quarter. They jammed it down our throats and we knew they were going to do it and could do nothing to stop it.

QB Rushing Stats

I think having a QB successful run the ball is one of multiple areas that's crippling the Team. Basing off the number of attempts, it seems about an average number of carries. The 1.3 yds per attempt is a blinking indicator that the OLine is failing. But, is this year's OLine so much worse than last year's?

Thus far, Cade has 90 yards on 71 attempts.

Here's a quick look back at some past teams and the QB rushing production.

2022 - DJ - 545 yds/ 142 carries
2021 - DJ & committee 403 yds/ 124 carries
2020 - Trevor & committee 283 yds/ 103 carries
2019 - Trevor 563 yds/ 103 carries - All QBS 649 / 119
2018 - QB by committee 400 yds/ 106 carries
2017 - KB 665 yds/ 192 carries
2016 - DW4 629 yds / 165 carries
2015 - DW4 1105 yds / 207 carries

Conclusion: As much as we all loathed the horizontal WR Screen that was our go to play for 5 years, shouldn't we reimplement it with 3rd Down Brown, Williams and Stellato to spread the line D out and keep them from crashing? Toss Sweeps? Pro Set, 2 RB Option with a QB rush?

I don't see any of the running schemes having much success with the current lack of push from the line.
