I swear, I could not get a rhythm going with the ball because of how he spread his players out. Obviously I had to try to react to his wider offensive scheme, and that’s when he would flip the ball to the middle player with the slightly stronger paddle and smack it straight into the goal. Over and over he did this, and I was powerless to defend it.
We played best of 3 games, and he took two in a row easily. He tipped his hat at me and said, “That’s the Dirt Raid right there, my friend.”
I’ve never been more impressed with a person in my life.

The pace of the game was so freakishly breakneck, I only had time to snap this:

In the 70s/80s, it was not far from the front door. If you think Riley is good, you wouldn’t have believed what a foosball wizard my old roommate Tommy Walsh was. I would rest one hand on the goalie controller and hold my beer with my other and just watch him win us beer all night…. good times at TTT!

What happened to Rene Pierre tables. Foosball started when I was at Clemson many years ago. Those were much better tables

My wife bought me a Rene Pierre table (used) a couple of years ago for my birthday. She drove 4 hours just to pick it up! Great present, great table, and great wife!

I was actually hooked on foosball when I was in my late 20s early 30s. That table game has lasted a really long time!!! Question, do they still use the cork balls?
