RB recruit Chris Johnson says he wants to see field early

I really like him, but I wonder if this quote regarding playing time right away in a recent interview will disqualify us. Let's face it, unless he's Etienne 2.0, it's going to be tough for any RB to come to Clemson and expect to see the field early. Ship and Kobe are going to get the majority of the touches as well they should. Plus, Phil is no scrub. I think if Johnson would be willing to be a little patient, he could solidly be in a rotation or be the man in year 2 or 3.

how Tommy the Bowden promised him the first carry of the season, which he promptly fumbled? And, didn't Mike Bellamy basically do the same thing?

That is why I LOVE the fact that the only statement Dabo makes is that new talent can come in and COMPETE for a job. You earn playing time, it is not given.

I also like that Dabo really does follow up on that. If you practice hard, and show talent, you WILL play some. You may rotate with one or even two other guys, but you WILL see the field, until someone rises up so far above the others that he clearly claims the #1 position.

Well, that should narrow his choices down to non-top 25 programs. He is not ready physically for day 1 pt at 178 lbs. He is fast, but needs to add strength.
