Hurt like hel*, but one of my favorite games ever.
Deshaun was simply legendary, just Derrick Henry was just too big and fast for any college player (or NFL player) to stop.

If they didn't execute that onside kick, Clemson wins. Also. If our suspended/injured players had been available, the Tight End would not have looked like an all pro. Game would not have been close. Wasnt Alexander one of the guys that we were missing?

Mackensie would’ve been a big piece towards a win. I absolutely hated that for him when I heard he was out.
But, OJ Howard wouldn’t have been matched up vs Alexander. It still would’ve been Kearse and the safeties watching him.
That said, Ardarius Stewart would’ve drawn Alexander. And Stewart made game changing plays. In that game, it’s a matter of a couple plays.

In retrospect we were beating them pretty well that game
We actually weren’t beating them as bad the game we won the next year
That onsides kick call by Saban was brilliant (and brilliantly executed). They don’t win without it.

That call and replacing Hurts with Tua were Saban's two best calls in his career that I'm aware of. He won two national titles on those moves.

All I remember was yelling “call a fair catch!!” At the TV during that onside kick. The announcers never alluded to it, but that ball had enough height that I think the flag is thrown and that is our ball if the up man just throws a hand up. They never gave us a chance to field it, and on an onside kick it doesn’t matter if the ball goes into the ground first, if it has height you can call it. But, we try to field it and the rest is history. On the other hand, if we win that game, I think Gallman and Leggett and others go pro and I’m not sure we win 2016, and we needed everything to win that one!
