Anyone else think it’s still full of shenanigans for the committee to overrank SEC and Big 10 to get as many in as possible? I know win conference and nothing to worry about (sorry Brett) but I have little faith in their leadership at this point. Screw the eye test while we’re at it. Now with all that complaining, I am happy it’s expanded.

Nope. There is a specific order will get 5 conference champions in leaving 7 other teams and attrition will take care of multiple teams from 1 conference being ranked high enough to get in.

11 of the 12 teams ranked by the committee were from P2.

FSU being the lone exception.

Why would you expect it to be different this year? What conference, not P2, will get two teams in the playoffs next year?

B1G added Oregon and Washington, plus USC and UCLA. SEC added TX and OU. Kirk Herbstreit can easily explain why 20 of the top 20 teams in the country are in the P2.

....SEC and B1G will have 9 teams in the playoffs. B1g 12 champ, ACC champ and one G5 conference champ will make it. The other 9 will come from the P2.

So basically each year I’ll pull for anyone from ACC or remaining teams not from those two conferences although odds will be heavily stacked against that. I thought I had resigned myself to just watching Clemson and tuning in at playoff time, but this scenario almost crushes that hope as well.

I’d say this past year I maybe watched 1/2 of the college games I used to. I see this dropping more next year. It’s a shame what this has become.

I would like to see some of these computer rankings do a run and switch out the ACC teams with the same ending records with the SEC or B1G preTENd conf pre season rankings and see how the teams end up. Yes,
I don't claim the ACC matches up team for team but the mid and bottom teams get more credit for beating each other in those 2 conferences.
