Any recommendations on where to eat..

Dec 10, 2022, 3:58 PM

dinner in the downtown Asheville. Taking the family out for the wife's birthday next weekend. I have not been to Asheville in 20+ years.

I have never been to this place, but someone told me they really enjoyed this place.

Depends on your budget, but as someone else said, Curate is probably the best. I also enjoy buxton hall, but for churched up bbq the price doesn’t feel in line with my enjoyment. Bouchon and Chai Pani are solid. Storm Rhum is pretty cool. There are so many good choices hard to go wrong.

Curate. The best in my opinion.

We lived just north of Asheville in Weaverville from 2014-2019. Here’s a list of some we liked.

Downtown - the Lobster Trap is good. Chestnut is also very good but a little more expensive. The food at Wicked Weed Brewing is surprisingly good. There is a Brazilian Steakhouse called Brasília Churrasco Steakhouse that is great if you like that type of restaurant. IMO Buxton Hall is ok BBQ but a little pricey for what it is.

South of downtown - if you want BBQ, 12 Bones Brewing is very good. I definitely prefer it over Buxton Hall. One of our favorite restaurants was 131 Main in the Biltmore Park Town Square south of town. If you want something with great atmosphere but expensive, the Red Stag Grill in the Bohemian Hotel in Biltmore Village is fantastic. The food at Sierra Nevada is pretty good too, but it is a little pricey for the small portions you get. They don’t want you to fill up on food and drink less beer.

North (Weaverville) - Blue Mountain Pizza is the best Pizza I have ever eaten. It is a small place so expect to wait to be seated. Just enjoy a beer and wait. It is worth it. Also in Weaverville is the Twisted Laurel. It is a nice family environment and pretty good food at reasonable prices.

Hope this helps.

Used to love the Little Bubbles Room in Weaverville. Are you old enough to remember that?

I’m probably old enough but didn’t live in the Asheville area until 2014.

I forgot Nine Mile. Really good Caribbean food at reasonable prices. Fresh seafood. They have 3 locations.
