As the DW4 saga lingers...

Jun 30, 2022, 9:08 AM

and the league contemplates further disciplinary action, realizing this is a PR nightmare for the NFL and they likely feel compelled to demonstrate that they are sensitive to reforming the culture as it pertains to issues of players and their treatment of women, it seems this all could be resolved fairly quickly and easily.

DW4 effectively, albeit involuntarily, sat out all of last season. That constitutes time served, so adding another year long suspension would be overly punitive considering there were no criminal charges.
He has also settled with 20 of his 24 accusers. On that basis, make him forfeit his entire salary from last year, donate it to some women's charity or fund further sensitivity training, make DW4 attend counseling, and let's get back to playing football.

He chose to sit out last year

Jun 30, 2022, 9:26 AM

And refused to play, that was on him--not the league and got paid (suspensions are unpaid). It will not have any impact on the suspension.

I seem to recall that he threatened to refuse to play, but actually did show up to summer camp to start work. It was at that time the Texans made the determination to keep him away from the rest of team. It's a grey area for sure, but I would think that it should be considered somewhat as "time served".

He was planning to sit out in an attempt to force a trade

Jun 30, 2022, 9:53 AM

Then all this came to light and he got put on the inactive list by the Texans. He was never technically auspended though and he got paid for the season.

The suggestion included forfeiting his salary for last year and having it donated to some worthwhile charity that benefits women. That would cure the pay issue for last season. Then he would have a season of not playing and not being paid.

I think the idea has merit.

Sounds reasonable. People seem to forget he was "punished" last year.

While I don't agree with DW4's behavior, I don't think it is unique in pro sports/entertainment. If you have millions to throw around, there will always be someone there trying to scoop it up. Players trade phone numbers of willing participants.

If someone crashes into my car, I know they did it. I don't need for 20 other people to crash into my car before I decide to come forward and file an insurance claim.

Everyone is happy until one person isn't. DW4 wasn't in trouble until he asked to be traded.

he was not "punished" he sat out to force their hand to trade him

He needs to do some more stuff like when he gave

the lunch ladies the money from his first paycheck when the flooding had damaged their homes. DW is a good guy but unfortunately money and power changes some people. We've all seen it at work over the years when someone gets a promotion and big raise.

The damage he did to his image will always be there, but he can still show a good heart by supporting things like women's shelters and children's charities and if he shows some remorse, contrition and willingness to make positive change. I'm guessing he gets a 6 game suspension.

IMO, until he has been found guilty of wrong doings, the NFL leaders need to sit down and shut the Fk up bc, in our great country, our laws state that a person is innocent until they have been proven guilty by a Jury of his Peers...

Definition of jury (Entry 1 of 3)
1: a body of persons sworn to give a verdict on some matter submitted to them
especially : a body of persons legally selected and sworn to inquire into any matter of fact and to give their verdict according to the evidence!!!!

TWO, not ONE, but TWO grand Jury's heard the evidence against DW4, and both grand Jury's stated that there were no evidence given that constitutes that a crime was committed by DW4 towards any of his accusers. That seriously tell me that the grand Jury saw the allegations against DW4 as an attempt for financial gain, and IMHO, I truly believe this why so many women working in a business that require their hands to be all over a persons body with just a towel draped over their ########.

Some of you that once raved over DW4 while he was the Clemson QB winning champions, and stating what an awesome guy he was, are now having trouble seeing the forest bc of the trees since he isn't the young man winning championships at Clemson!!! DW4 is the same young man that played QB at Clemson, and two Grand Jury's said that he broke no laws of the land/country that we live in!!!

The NFL has a code of conduct and morality clauses...

Jun 30, 2022, 9:50 AM

that apply to all players. This will be the basis of any additional punishment imposed by the league. Of course, whatever that happens to be, the players union will appeal and DW4 will likely get to play pending the outcome of said appeal.

Yes they do have those clauses.

Jun 30, 2022, 11:05 AM

But if you’re going to lay the hammer down on someone, such as a one-year or indefinite suspension, you might want to have some real proof that someone actually did something wrong or illegal.

The Watson situation is absolutely a he said she said situation, although the number of incidents and the info we have suggest that he did some naughty things. But none of it was criminal.

Therefore I think the NFL is setting a dangerous precedent if they suspend Watson indefinitely and/or for a year. But as you have stated, this is politics, this is about them trying to fix their image, and unfortunately for Watson he just happens to be the piñata.

if your daughter came home with a guy and she let you know he is gotten 60+ blow jobs from hookers over the past 18 months - what would you think about her dating him? Would you defend him to your friends?

You have a sick and twisted view of women if you really think that they are massage therapists for sexual pleasure or the hopes getting groped so they can sue them.

It is a therapeutic practice that is meant to help people heal and relax. I hope you don't pass down this mindset to your son.

I just don't think legit Massage Therapists advertise on CraigsList.

The ones I know have offices and you go to them.

Why would you not utilize all forms of marketing? Landscapers do it too, what is the difference?

While I see what you are saying - the person who made the post but the entire massage therapy profession under one umbrella.
