Based on my opinion ( worth exactly what you paid me for it). I would take another job at a division 1 school and use the portal to take my freshman with me.
Bunch of spoiled “newbie” Clemson fans that hopped on the Dabo wagon , and think there is another crystal ball laying out there waiting to be picked up.
I loved watching BB’s team play this year , and hated about 4 of the losses. The fans that have been slamming our coaches and players publicly while still employed and with zero character issues have done more damage to the basketball program , and have begun to do it to the baseball team, than BB ever fit to his program.
As far as I am concerned, upwards of 30% of the Clemson fan base is now made up of people that have no idea what Clemson fandom represents.

What makes you think someone who’s a lifelong fan wouldn’t be sick of our current situation?

A lot of us would enjoy having a tournament team on a regular basis. And I assure you, I’ve been around since the Hatfield days. I was barely sentient but I was there.

"A lot of us would enjoy having a tournament team on a regular basis."
Me too. Been waiting for over 45 years. Saw glimpses and it was fun, but nothing under a regular basis with Ellis, Barnes, Shyatt, OP or CBB.
CBB does have a much more fundamentally talented roster of basketball players vs athletes or big bodies to knocu people around.
And per your post, Hatfield coached football. I think we are talking about Tournament not Playoff berths.

Was a bandwagon fan that came with Dabo. So I informed him that no, I have been a Clemson fan since godawful Hatfield.
But I have been here since the Ellis days as well. Does that make your heart feel better?

Yeah Brad is going to tell his agent to reject all overtures, especially from basketball schools that spend more on that sport. Do you make up half the crap you post?

lifelong Clemson fan and alum.
My grandfather finished Clemson in 1924 and was a charter member of IPTAY.
I graduated with a BS degree in 1985 and an MBA in 1988
I played soccer at Clemson from 1981 to 1985 and served as a grad assistant from 1986 to 1988.
Someone in my family (either my father or me) has been an IPTAY member and season ticket holder in both football and basketball since 1969.
I can count on one hand the number of home basketball games that I've missed in the last 30 years (tomorrow night will be one of them).
Again, speaking entirely for myself, I am sick and tired of settling for inconsistency and mediocrity, and I am a firm believer that the Brad Brownell experiment should have been terminated years ago, and nothing that occurred this season changes my position.
There is absolutely no justifiable reason why Clemson can't be great in both football and basketball. Expecting to make it to the NCAAT more often than not, and certainly more frequently than three times every thirteen years, is not an unreasonable expectation.

I award you the coveted WIN award, good sir. I am a second-generation alum and haven't attended a home game since graduation, as I live in NC. But I would enthusiastically support a new coach and new direction for our Tigers. BB has hit his ceiling.

Absolutely agree 110%, I bleed orange & I will support and pull for our basketball team regardless of who our coach is but we must have vision and believe we can be great in Basketball too!
We can’t quit with winning 20 games and losing in the 1st round of the NIT after 13 years. We can do better, the real Tiger fans understand we will never be satisfied underachieving every season.
I’d rather have two losing seasons to turn this program around and make our teams competitive in games that matter.
We can and will beat anyone, we can win a National Championship in Basketball well before the coots in Columbia but we aren’t going to do this with our current leadership we have 4 years to prove it -> Times 3 and the chances should be over now.
Remember how much more excitement their was for Basketball when Rick Barnes was coach, we can be competitive with best teams in the Nation consistently.
Great fans stand behind our Tigers always but believe we can be the best in every sport. A huge percentage of Clemson fans want change with our basketball leadership and they at the same time support Brad until he’s no longer head coach here.
Why question others about being fans because they want to win consistently and believe new leadership is the answer after 3 four year stints.
Go Tigers!

And I cannot disagree more with your assertion. I was around during Red Parker, Charley Pell, Danny Ford, Hatfield, West, Bowden et al… also in basketball Foster, Ellis, Barnes, Purnell, Shyatt… Ibrahim in soccer too. Leggett in baseball. I’ve seen the good, the bad and the ugly.
You know good when it is here! Brownell is mediocre at best! It is beyond time to move on.
Elliott was in place for way too long too. Streeter was clearly not the answer either! Grisham is in the crosshairs.
What is with all of these fans being willing to settle for mediocrity yet be ok with paying millions to these coaches who can’t win championships? I stand here today and say it loud and proud… #### No! Enough is enough!

ES2, I appreciate your fervor! However, does your anger extend to JK, Corncob, and others who continually deride Dabo and the football program? I disagree that it is mostly those that just "jumped" on the train, that are aggravated over this decision. My first trip to Clemson was as a 3 year old in 1965! I have sat through Hootie Ingram, 56-20, Hatfield and West, Shyatt, Barnes bolting, and Monte Lee! I can honestly say, my Clemson experiences that brought joy, have far outweighed those that brought heartache! Not many fans of other schools {our rival} can make that claim! Mediocrity, when accepted and embraced, becomes the norm! I have met, and like coach Brownell, but 15 years in, we are spinning our wheels!

but the goal is the Tournament and Final Four, ACC Championship and I don't believe we will ever get there on a consistent basis
We got NO RESPECT from the Tournament Committee

Just to be fair, I have not seen a lot of slamming of the basketball players that you mention in your post. I will say this, slamming of players is far more present in FB than it is in BB and even Dabo came under fire last year a lot more than ever before.
We still love both teams but we express our gripes rather vociferously in both sports.

Luckily none of us care about your opinion. Do I think Brownell should be fired after this year? No. I'd give him one more season to make the NCAA tournament. But your opinion is stupid. I haven't heard a single person demanding we compete for the national title in basketball. If you can point me to a single post like that, I'll concede, but you can't. Rather, they make a very clear point.
Brownell is paid extremely well. We are also a school with a lot of talent around us. If you look at how much we spend for our basketball, we should not be competing for titles. But we should make the tournament more years than not (probably about 70%). And I think we should get to the Sweet Sixteen every 5 or 6 years. But we've underperformed for 12 of of Brownell's 13 years.
What does Clemson fandom mean to you? Complacency? Apathy? Being happy with mediocrity? Those aren't qualities I prize in myself and they're things I teach my kids to not be happy with. If those are what make a Clemson fan to you, then I guess I'm not a Clemson fan. But to me, those are the qualities of losers (and I invariably find those people content with mediocrity in one aspect of their life are mediocre in all aspects of their life).

If we actually got to the Big Dance anywhere near 70% of the time there would be far fewer things to gripe about. Don't get me wrong, we'd still find things to pick at but going to the dance 7 out of 10 years would heal a lot of sore butts.

I’ve been attending Clemson football games since the early 70’s and went to most of the home games and many of the away games and bowl games with friends and family. Also attended basketball games sometimes. Football is and always will be my favorite sport but I want ALL of Clemson sports to be successful and always will. I was very excited for the Clemson hurdler Giano when I saw he won a national championship recently at the nationals. My dad was a long-time Iptay donor before he passed away and bought seats in the North upper deck around 1982 when it was built. I still have those same seats and the Iptay membership that came with it that has been going over 40 years now. Just because I don’t get to attend many basketball games doesn’t mean I don’t support Clemson basketball. It doesn’t take a genius to see that we need a change and actually needed it 5 years ago or more. We need more excitement in the program. Although I like Brownell he just doesn’t bring that excitement that we need. More excitement with a great younger coach who can recruit will get more butts in the seats. I know the right coach can do this. We need to find him.

Are you drunk? Go off on a rant about newbie fans to deflect the fact that we are sticking with an average coach. Been a fan for 40 plus years and no I’m not happy with another NIT berth. If you are that’s fantastic, but don’t call people newbies because they may not agree with you.
Was just hoping you maybe under the influence with that line of thinking.
