I can remember when it snowed in '72 all of a sudden Harcomb and Selleter were missing all of their trays for a few day. They make excellent sleds.

Oh yeah, remember the dining trays well... perfect one man sleds. There was a shortage at the dining halls for some time after that. You could start at the top of the hill at Clemson House and shoot all the way across the street at the bottom onto Bowman field.

Remember that there were non-stop battles all over campus. Hall vs hall, frat vs frat, dorm vs dorm, etc. I lived in Norris Hall and we had to withstand charges from the Quad. But the baseball team was on 4th floor of Norris back then, and they were lethal. There was a big tall lanky kid named Ron Mussleman (sp?), he was a pitcher. Had to be about 6-4 or 6-5, and was chuckin 90 mph fastballs (snowballs). We beat back many attacks with him leading the way. I think he played in the major leagues after his time at CU. We were outnumbered, but nobody wanted one of those upside the face...

Also remember that we would stay out all night sledding down that big hill, whatever the road is that runs straight into Death Valley. Back then there was nothing but a chain link fence stopping you from going down The Hill and onto the football field. We slammed into the fence so many times they eventually had to replace that section. When the snow/ice started melting, we ran a hose from an outside spigot at Dillard Hall all night to "fill in the gaps" and let it re-freeze... so we could still run the hill. The campus cops would confiscate the hose, and we'd replace it with another. We had guys doing all night "hill duty" to maintain it . LOL

To quote Steely Dan, it was all fueled by Cuervo Gold and fine Colombian.

I was there for that. I do miss those days. We missed more school for snow in 3 years than the rest of Clemson history up to then.
