The college football landscape is changing as we know it, thanks to the transfer portal and NIL opportunities. But Booger McFarland believes one principle has stayed the same.

McFarland delivered an important message to all the new college football players on Wednesday during National Signing Day regarding NIL, otherwise known as Name, Image and Likeness.

McFarland, who played defensive tackle at LSU in the late 1990s, wants players to remember that the game itself means more than the money it provides.

In other words, keep working hard and focus on the game and financial blessings will follow.

"NIL has changed CFB,one thing it can’t change is your love for the game. Either u love it & are willing to give your all or u don’t & the love for the money will show. Congrats to all the kids who signed the NLI today. Get in the gym & stop looking at ur bank account," McFarland said.

I don't normally agree with Booger but I do on this one. I don't know if he'd admit it but this is the line Dabo and his staff used in recruiting. Do the work and the money etc. will show up.

Will be a problem for teammates, coaches and eventually for the people paying into the collectives.

How big a problem… who knows?
