Brad Edwards in the mix? He was AA down there and had a very good pro career. He was in AD's office there and later was AD at Newberry College - did a good job and was promoted up from that job - has a lot of admin experience, etc.

Tanner made it sound like he was not quite ready to give-up coaching just yet and by his own admission, the two jobs are entirely too involved to even remotely consider doing both.

program. If Tanner leaves the team then that program will fade. It's almost impossible to replace a legend and stay at that high level. Maybe the first couple of years but downhill after that...just look at hatfield at Clemson...which led to 20 years of subpar football.
