Breaking: Clemson offers elite 2016 CB

Clemson coach Mike Reed has just offered 4* CB Lavert Hill (5-11 180) of Detroit, MI. 247sports rates him as the #6 CB in the 2016 class and 66th overall. He immediately scheduled a January 20th visit to TigerTown but will visit Michigan State (Jan 22) as well as Miami (Jan 29). Hill, who has over 25 offers, will play this Saturday in the US Army All-American Bowl. He originally committed to Penn State but has since backed off of the Nittany Lions. He will announce on Signing Day.

What do you think our chances are? I have also heard that we are going for 3star CB Malek young from pompano beach Florida.

That's a really good sign. I don't mean to imply anything but I will say that is a great sign. Recently I've seen some folks talk as if we're putting all our chips in on Trayvon Mullen but that is not the case at all. Brent V has been in talks with S Marcelino Ball (6-1 180) of Roswell, GA as well as Arkeem Byrd (6-0 190) of Savannah, GA. Additionally, there are others who are certainly on our radar but lets not muddy things up to much for now as I could go on and on... I'll try to put out a recruiting update this week for you guys.

I like what I've seen from Byrd. If we had a little more room he would be a definite take as an athlete - don't see guys that flip their hips around well like he does on film
whoa just realized that sounded creepy and weird
anyway I think he can definitely play at this level.

Cause he just decommitted from Penn State. Was hoping we'd make Damar Hamlin's final list but such is life. We'll be just fine.

Apparently 247 has reshuffled they're CB ratings, Hill is at #11. Mullen is at #3.
Hill is 5'11 l75 while Mullen is 6' 2 and 172. Both are fast fast but Mullen's got the height.
I'd be happy with either but I'd take Mullen if we can get him .

Mullen was actually in the 160's at the AAA weigh ins today. He's definitely gonna have to get bigger and stronger but even at his size he can still handle the top receivers out there.
