Cade Klubnik Spring Game

While I don’t expect the offense to be all-out in the spring game, I am hoping to see some maturation from Klubnik in both his pocket and situational awareness, both of which were a huge problem at times last year. Of course, he won’t look noticeably better if our receivers can’t get open and win contested catches. What do y’all think about Cade and the offense at this point in time?

Don't forget QB'S can't be touched. Teams will be mixed. We also don’t want to show jawjaw anything new. Game is more for the fans than anything else.

I think vanilla is all you will ever see from Klubnik, and of course turnovers. I’m not buying him as a legitimate D1QB. Maybe spoiled by DW/ TL but CK is a liability in this offense.

I have been following Cade since he announced he was coming to Clemson. I watched him most of his senior year.
What can make a potentially great QB go from good to great? If you can't consistently block long enough for GOOD receivers to get open then your screwed at best. GOOD CONCISTAINT offensive line play!! Which Clemson has only had twice, 2016 and 2019. Ring any bells?
I will be particularly watching the consistency of the offensive line. Empasis on "consistency".
If you can't block "consistently" then any potentially great QB can only look good. [Cade would NEVER SAY this; since he is definitely the definition of "All In".
But if Cade and Dabo have any sense; [and I think they do]. Neither will SHOW marked improvement over last year. We'll save that for jaja.

Spring games don't really mean much.......except when they do! Remember a few years back when the spring game offense was so vanilla that the Tnetters were screaming for Streeter's head. Lo & behold, when Fall came around, the offense was so vanilla that Tnetters were screaming for Streeter's head. So there's that!

Not to mention we all saw Trevor throw a 70 yard bomb to Tee Higgins his freshman season and we all wanted Kelly B replaced. Then fall came around and the same thing.
If you can't get a good gauge of who to watch for in the season and have a feel of how the team is progressing then I've been watching different spring games then yall.

Heck he won’t look noticeably better if the receivers CAN get open. Contrary to what people want to believe when you turn on the tape last year, our receivers and play design were much better than you would think but when you have a quarterback that can’t see a thing downfield and just isn’t smart at all the offense is handicapped. Dabo has done a great job with the new hires. We’ve recruited some good young receivers. We’ve done a lot to get this offense in a good spot for this upcoming season except for one big problem. The engine that makes it go which is the QB. We don’t have one
