Can CU finish in top 10 after LSU win? How?

Jan 1, 2013, 6:30 PM

How do you see our chances of finishing in top 10?

ND (1) vs AL (2)
FL (3) vs LV (21)
OR (4) vs KST (5)
Stan (6) vs WI (nr)
UGA (7) beat NB (16)
LSU (8) lost CU (14)
A&M (9) vs Ok (11)
S.Carolina (10) beat MI (18)
FSU (12) vs NIL (15)
Oregon State (13) lost to TX (23)

We probably finish #11

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

It may happen not just because of teams losing ahead of Clemson.

Jan 1, 2013, 6:46 PM

A win over a top ten, SEC team may allow them to jump a little higher.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I think we finish at 10

Jan 1, 2013, 6:48 PM

we will jump FSU just because their playing NIU, Oregon St., LSU obviously, and the loser of the cotton bowl.

Brad Brownell: more losses than any other coach in school history.

Here is how I see it.....

Jan 1, 2013, 6:48 PM

Coaches Poll

1. ND/Bama winner
2. Florida
3. Oregon
4, ND/Bama loser
5. Georgia
6. Stanford
7. Okla/Texas A&M winner
8. South Carolina
9. FSU
10. Clemson
11. Kansas St. (after loss to Oregon)
12. LSU
13. Okla/Texas A&M loser

We will probably finish 11 in AP due to Ohio State being there.
Things may change slightly if there is a huge upset ( like Fla. losing or something)

I can C that***

I put Tigers at number 8.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

we go to #11 to start the day today.

Jan 1, 2013, 6:52 PM

strength of schedule could actually push us past South Carolina and Florida State even though they both win,and beat us, due to playing weak bowl opponents, neither of which will be ranked. We finish at 9, 10, or 11

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Michigan doesn't drop out of the top25 for losing to SC.

Jan 1, 2013, 7:37 PM

Clemson also doesn't jump SC because over all, strength of schedule wasn't even a FACTOR for Clemson this year. 1-2 vs teams with a pulse is hardly pushing it. At least you got the signature win this year, cause it would have been embarrassing to say Ball State was the best team you beat. Good job on a pretty good season.

military_donation.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

of course they do. they are 8-5...

Jan 1, 2013, 10:04 PM

didn't even belong being ranked high enough to play today.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Of course, a Stanford loss would get us in....

Jan 1, 2013, 6:54 PM

for sure. Go Badgers?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

We need to jump 4 teams. We should jump

Jan 1, 2013, 6:54 PM

1. The loser of the Tex Am- Oklahoma Game
2. LSU (But you never know)

That puts us at 12th and it is getting hard to find others to jump due to the outcomes of games.

3. If Wisconsin can beat Stanford that would be the third team.
4. Maybe if K-State loses to Oregon badly enough. They would have to lose pretty bad because they are a good ways ahead of us.
5. It would be nice if Florida lost to Louisville in the Sugar, but I doubt that happens.

Re: We need to jump 4 teams. We should jump

Jan 1, 2013, 7:07 PM

It is easy....ESPN will not allow LSU to drop out of the top 10. So we will be at 9.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Oregon State lost right? That's 3.***

I forgot about them. Thanks for pointing it out. That is

3 and that helps.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

We will finish 11 unless Florida or Stanford loses or

Jan 1, 2013, 7:27 PM

Oregon/Kansas State loser falls past us.

Re: Can CU finish in top 10 after LSU win? How?

Jan 1, 2013, 7:41 PM

If we go by the logic that has been used this year when the mighty SEC defeats one of their mighty brethren, that is good for at least a 5 place bump , regardless of what the other teams between Clemson and LSU might have done or who they played. In the same regards LSU played well enough to win but we just got lucky. That should warrant only one or two place drop.
