Car rental ... Small SUV vs Truck

I've never owned a truck, but have a chance to rent one for the next month while my car is in the shop. Enterprise has a truck listed cheaper than a compact SUV rate approved by insurance.

Any downsides to renting a Chevy Colorado (or similar) instead of a small SUV like a Chevy Trax? Will primarily be used for driving to office, shuttling two kids around (one of which using crutches) and camping 1-2x (with non-crutch kid).

Could use this opportunity to get all our donations/trash out the door with the extra space of a truck.

If those are your two options and legroom is the same I would go truck

Yikes, that Trax is a 3 cylinder?

Now you have to go Colorado.

I drove an 05 Colorado for years. It drove pretty terrible but I loved it for 270K miles.

I would request tell them to put me in a similarly priced vehicle. They can move one from another location.

They tried to put me in a compact car and I was like #### naw. I was driving an SUV, so I got an SUV.

They originally had me in a Toyota Corolla for the rental. Told them I needed at least an SUV, so after haggling they approved me for the smallest of small SUVs. At least I can switch to the truck for an equivalent price.

Yeah, the first two days all they had was a GMC Terrain, but it had a V-6
