Civil War, the Movie....

Not bad, but not great.
They don't go into the "how or why". They just plop you down in the middle of this bloody conflict. Once you accept that, it's worth seeing. But don't expect a great analysis of our political situation in America. You will note the general breakdown in civilian order...that - to me - is a good reflection of what will likely happen. If we did have a war in this country between our citizens, there would likely be pockets of chaos all over the place that don't necessarily make sense to the unlucky people that happen to stumble upon those pockets....

part of me says the gun-toting wanna-be cowboys will eventually grow resentful enough that they will take up arms, at which point their water, electricity, internet, cell phone service, and food deliveries will all be cut off. 5-6 weeks in, and they are gonna want a Pabst blue ribbon and some truth social, prompting a surrender. It will go down in history as the lamest civil war evar and later referred to as the war of stupid, naked and afraid.

The movie has the "Western Forces", which is an alliance of Texas and California, which have seceded from the Union. They are fighting against the US military.
I find that scenario to be preposterous.
But there are various pockets of seemingly unaligned gun-toting militia types that are shooting people dead. And it comes across as general chaos. There's no obviously hard "front line", but just groups of shooters all around. Then, there are small cities that have their own security forces trying to keep the bad guys out.
To me, the chaotic part seems likely. I could see that happening.
As for your view that it would only last a few weeks....ehhh, I wouldn't count on that.

you would run out of the wild game in less than 30 days, and if you had food stores, you would have to fight off your neighbors and the Warlords that would spring up in Chaos. I do not see this being organized, more so a bunch fo guys running around the woods looking for things to kill, eventually growing bored and wanting Netflix and Nattty light back.

Cities would be looted in less than 24 hrs. Sewage overflowing
No other means of cooking or getting water
OR
People who have wells, grow their own food, raise chickens, can heat and cook without electricity, can kill game, have cellars with all the extras they canned from the previous seasons and the means to grow new crops...

Who knows, could be many silver linings with such a thing. Being offended over your pronouns might seem less important compared to needing a place to take a dump because you have no functional inside bathroom facilities.
Of course that problem is somewhat self-correcting, because with little-to-no food, your dump frequency is lower.
