Life isn’t fair! We cannot all have things equal to what someone else has or them to us. Some people work harder or have a more important occupation and therefore earn more. Trying to make things equal for every student athlete will hurt all student athletes.

No advocating for or against - but Title IX says that if colleges take federal money that they do have to be fair and equal (relatively - it can get complicated). Colleges are not “the real world”. They have every right to refuse federal money. They can also eliminate football and make every other sport as sh*tty as they want. People like to say football pays for all these other sports. There is some truth to that but money is fungible. The reality is football operates to the benefit of a school like Clemson. Clemson also runs non-revenue sports and the law says they have to operate them with a certain standard. But football as much pays for those as it does new buildings, teachers, academic scholarships, etc...It’s positive cash flow for a very large business.

As part of the Charley Pell probation, Clemson is supposed to have employees dedicated to NCAA compliance. I would have the compliance officer interview the girl and get names. If there is something to her story, then clean up the mess and suffer the consequences. If the girl is throwing false accusations, pursue legal action against her.

This leftist blackmail tactic may work for short term, but I don't see it lasting. I'd give Track and Field 3 years tops, first year because they have to, second no one will support it, third year the coaches give up and find other jobs. If so, then good riddance.
