Clemson Offense … your opinions …

Sep 11, 2022, 6:05 PM

This could be super obvious to most but just curious what you guys think … it seems like we are gonna have to be opposite of most teams with our o line which means throwing to open up the run game ? I think that’s the only way we get any type of running game going this year is making defenses respect our passing game once again (seems like it’s so far from where we were a couple years ago) to loosen up the front so we can get some running going … almost like pitching backwards in baseball.

I think, just like last year, a lot of teams are going to load the box and dare us to throw, and then it will come down to the OL's ability to protect, DJ's ability to throw accurately, and our receiver's ability to catch.

If we improve in these areas we will have success in both rushing and passing because the D will be forced to drop back more which should open up the running lanes. If not, this year will look a lot like last year.

I see improvements coming. Some of the pre-season injured beginning to ease in. I like what I see. O and D still growing together.

We have the finest group of tight ends in the country and try our best not to use them Allen and bringingstool should be catching 10 plus per game...they alone CAN compromise anyone's linebackers and safeties! What are we waiting on...ALlen can make dj look accurate.

I guess we have to throw short passes like Furman did and use Ship on sweeps. I am sure Coach Streeter sees it all and will react.

Have you seen the TE’s UGA has? No way you

can honestly say we have finest grouo of TE’s in country.

UGA might have 2 TE’s go in 1st round this year and the little frosh they got will catch as many passes and will be a 1st rounder in 2 years.

Easy on saying we have best in country.

That's the way it's been for the last decade.

I think the O-line is not quite fully developed yet.

I think we'll do just fine this season and get better and better each game. Dabo will substitute early and often to get the backups ready for the post season, like always.

Our OC is doing for DJ what Jeff and Tony did for Cole in the bowl game after Chad left. Streeter has dumbed down the playbook and taking all the thinking away from the QB position. It's good for DJ's confidence so when he's sitting on the bench he won't be stressed over the mistakes he made and the bear the burden of those to come.

Our QB will be fine when Cade takes the helm. He can check down to alternate receivers and should be good at read at running the option read by the end of the season when we face a team of better quality than those on our regular schedule.

I have high hopes for the post season and our guys on both sides of the ball.

Imo, judging a team after only two games is about as practical as ranking teams this early. The end of the season will make one who deliberates prematurely look like an moron.
