A double bye would obviously go a long way to solve those problems.

But it has never ever been his own fault. That’s the most consistent thing he’s ever had going.

I owe you an apology nctigs. You said watch out and felt it'd be a slugfest in the 60s.
ND has got to be excited about their program next year if they keep the kids they have. Ppl shouldn't be that shocked... they did the same thing to wake.
I could see ND making a mini run in the acc tournament.
In fact. The way I see the acc is you have 2 teams unc and dook, then the pack, then the bottom 4 but all capable of beating the other.

He should call Kelvin Sampson and see what he would have done in that situation. Sampson would have brutalized those 7 players with a war-like practice, as he does every day, even on game days, and he would not have "Expected something like this." No way Jose!!

Judge, I’m not the Fire Brownell sort of guy. I agree with you that we should let the season, in any sport with any coach, play out and then make decisions.
What I question from last night is the game plan. It was obvious to me that when we went inside, we dominated. But instead we shot 3’s all night with a very low percentage and a quick trigger. We wasted so many possessions.
Now I’m not a D1 basketball coach for sure, but it seems to me that if he only had 7 healthy players, perhaps we should have played more deliberately and had better shot selection instead of raining 3’s all night.
Then I read where he said that his veterans tried to shoot their way out of their problem. His job as coach is to correct that. Or maybe some of the vets are playing out of control and aren’t listening to him.
I support him and the team. My position is to see us correct these issues, get the double bye, get a good seed in the NCAAT, and see how far we can go. We have shown signs of brilliance at times. But we need to play our game.

Many of us, myself included, would not feel so negative about Brownell, if he would, just for once, take ownership of a loss. instead, he always, always, always blames it on his players or the refs.
I could write it for him: “ I really appreciate the support of all the fans. I accept complete responsibility for the loss at Notre Dame. We were not prepared and I did not have a game plan that worked. Will be back in practice tomorrow and look to make improvements.”

There isn’t anyway to sugarcoat it. The loss to ND was one that never should have happened and was ugly. This team needs to get laser focused on finishing this season strong.
