Sorry if this has been covered but I just saw Dan Scott on a Facebook stream doing his radio show on a AM station with Furman stuff all around him. I moved to Myrtle Beach so I didn't keep up with what happened at WCCP but obviously when I moved back to Clemson he wasn't with them any longer. Anyone know why? Also he callled our baseball games and I thought he did a great job with that as well. Thanks in advance

James Thurn was a boy who wouldnt grow up. I also got the feeling that his family probably bought
the air time and didnt care if it made money or not. It was time for him to go get a real job
and be productive. That radio show was straight garbage. He was such an angry guy. You could tell he hated that he wasnt good enough to play big boy football and resented those that were.

My understanding exactly. I hear the daddy had the money and did in fact "buy" the airtime. As mentioned, it was a terrible show.
Honestly, Dad did not have the most entertaining show but was it any worse than Thurn and now Qualk? I do wish that Dan was given the baseball broadcast job. He does a good job.

Idk, maybe just plug in the CBS national show in that spot.
My order of WCCP shows from best to worst:
Roy
Mickey
Walt
That landscaping show
Qualk
That said, Scott Cole needs his own show ASAP. He also should be in the booth calling Clemson football games.

he does all their sports pbp, I believe. And does an Am radio show on a station I don't listen to, so I don't know what it is.

On Mondays from 6-7 pm Dan Scott broadcasts from American Burger downtown on E. McBee. I think it is the Furman football coach's show. Don't know the radio channel.

Dan's shows were often comprised of him breathing heavily into his mic and awkward silences. That being said, the current 9am slot isn't any better.

Dan was fired from wccp because he was cheating on his wife and using the radios computers to do so. Or so Samantha (his daughter)said.

he began using his sports show as a forum to discuss a social issue. I understand he felt convicted to do so and I certainly think that more action is needed when it comes to abuse. however, there is a time and place for everything.
