David Hood please ask about the HILL…

Sep 19, 2022, 7:40 AM

The ongoing issue needs to be addressed. What is causing the hill to only be 30% full at best when the team runs down.
Is it a student issue or is a logistical issue?
From I saw Saturday night the students and fans have to go through a major process to get access to the hill.
If it’s a fire marshal issue then why not put seats there and leave small thin strip for players to run through.
Would love to have someone ask Me. Neff and get straight honest answer.
Thank you for considering!

From the overhead TV shot it looked like the whole left side was empty except for one small strip of people lined up by the carpet. No more than 1 or 2 deep. About the worst I have seen.

Its bc students have to enter on the right side or walk ALL

the way around to get to other side of stadium and they close it off 20min before the team gets there.....which is stupid and I think another way to limit the number of students.....its a shame

I've heard this "Fire Marshal" excuse for years but I

cannot find a single article where a reporter has actually interviewed the Clemson Fire Marshal to get a thorough explanation of the Hill issue. It should be a real easy thing for a Clemson beat reporter to go talk to the Clemson Fire Marshal and get an answer to this supposed reason for the Hill being "limited". My personal belief is that the Fire Marshal excuse is a BS rumor that has never been the problem with populating the Hill.

Instead, I think the problem stems from the CUAD under Dan Radakovich tampering with our previously successful Hill seating policy and turning it into this anemic student only/Hill ticket only area. Once the CUAD stopped the public (with any stadium ticket) from being able to go over to the Hill it started looking anemic like it does today.

For us older Clemson fans this anemic Hill seating is irritating and is not a good look - especially on TV. It is high time we abandon the Radakovich era Hill access experiment and go back to our previously successful Hill seating to allow anyone who wants to sit on the Hill to do so - up until the point the Hill is full.

I totally agree! I’m hoping that David Hood will ask Mr. Neff or the fire marshal and get to the bottom of it.
They have two weeks to get it worked out before NCSU comes to town.

Simple, we have not had a sellout this year.

Yep, and maybe the snowflake generation doesn’t want to sit on the “Hill”. They might get their clothes dirty.

Fire Marshal not just responsible on things that burn.

Sep 19, 2022, 9:22 AM

Stadium egress and ingress and capacity come under his purview.

The flaw with that argument is the section of seating right next to the hill. Fill the hill to the same capacity as the stands right next to it and you've successfully filled the hill.

I hope somebody brings it up

The hill looked awful during the team's run down. Seemed pretty full on one side and abandoned on the other. This has been an ongoing issue and looks terrible on tv.
