Despite the horrible play of DJ and dropped passes

Nov 13, 2021, 3:57 PM

our biggest weaknesses continue to be play-calling and OL play.

TE insists on trying the draw play on 3rd and long (and we are in a lot of them) despite it losing yards most of the time. If he is going to give up then just hand it off up the middle.

TE also calls the WRs screens over and over despite through 10 games it resulting in negative yards more times than not.

Also, Trotter was being bounced around by the Uconn DL and the more I'd watch him specifically the more I'm amazed that he is even in there at all. How bad must Tchio have been not to have gotten a sniff?

Transfers and head-scratching play calling, OL and QB development have got me wondering that the heII is going on at Clemson.

Not to give TE a pass, but it's possible that DJ's inability to consistently throw passes longer than five yards influences the playcalling. Defenses know he struggles with that so they stack the box and dare us to run or throw screens which result in losses.

Taisun at least gives us a different look since he can run. That also helps with the poor OL play since he has the ability to scramble that DJ doesn't.

Maybe

but this line is so bad. The draw plays are also plain stupid. Not a TE fan at all after this season.

Let me guess. You’re a West Coast DJ sympathizer?

OLine is bad. Play calling hasn’t been great. But news flask sweetheart…DJ is abhorrently atrocious!

Something has happened to the Clemson offense. #5 continues to struggle and has not progressed as a QB. Play calling. Etc. we need serious help if we want to win next 2 games. Gotta score points.

DJ has to be replaced. He’s without a doubt the worst QB in the ACC and was the worst in Memorial stadium today

All we truly know is this off season is going to tell a lot of what is in store for this football program. There's just too many issues all over the offense to not have someone be let go (and now kickoff coverage issues; figured that would be permanently fixed after 2015 Bama game.) I just hope we do enough to beat the coots and WF, plus win whatever bowl game we go to. I know the defense will be ready to go at least (barring more injuries).

On another note; this defense DOES NOT get enough credit this year. Considering they could have basically given up at any point this season with the offense just being just a pile of slugs in salt. But they've continued to battle and fight through injuries and salvage what is left of this season. I feel for those guys. They deserve a championship and something of an offense to compliment them with their play.
