utilizing Sam Hartman for the whole game in running up the score against an over-manned Navy team. They were obviously going for improving their national ranking over giving their 2nd and possibly even 3rd string quarterbacks some meaningful game experience. This could come back and hurt them big time during the remainder of the season should Hartman go down with an injury!

Not really the case at all. New QB, new system, first game, new team... you had to give Sam some time to get the reps he needed coming out of camp. The other issue is the way Navy runs the ball, they eat up a lot of time so you don't get that many plays on offense to begin with. ND ran 56 offensive plays in the game and Sam only threw it 23 times.

I didn't see anything at all wrong with the way ND managed the game given the circumstances.
