DJ has always looked “scared” , indecisive, slow and

Just not confident…..he is always behind on throws (why we never see slants) and usually way off on longer passes……yes he has a cannon for a arm….but power isn’t everything. He must be a bad #### in practice

Last night, DJU (and also the ND QB) played the first half in very windy conditions. We tried to make things work right out of the gate with short passes to the flat; these worked like mad, except that #80 had TWO holding calls in that opening series.

When it became obvious that our OL lacked the run blocking ability to spring the run game, ND recognized that we were one-dimensional. (They also knew that downfield passes would be disproportionately less accurate the further down the field that the pass went.) So they covered very well the short flat passes and destroyed our run game.

When DJU got the playcall to drop back and throw it downfield, ~ half the time a ND blitzer was in his legs or in his lap. We never adjusted to their smart blitz packages.

Oh yeah, and our WRs (with the exception of Antonio Williams) rarely get separation, they rarely win contested balls, and they also allow the DB to ride them to the edge of the sideline.

None of this had anything to do with DJU, he looked anything other than scared or indecisive. His decision was usually to NOT THROW THE BALL WHEN NO ONE WAS OPEN.

Contrast that to Cade K., who in his second snap ... instead of throwing the ball away when a blitzer was in his grill ... tried to make a hero's play by tossing a marshmellow to Ngata. Yep, Cade was decisive, alright and showed courage. How'd you like that result?

Always the dang excuses with this guy. Sir, DJ is very bad. Plain and simple. If he causes this program to lose Cade or Vizzina because he wants to stay, it may divide the program and fans for the first time since the Bowden era. The guy has a stench and has left it on the Clemson program. I think it’s best for him to go on and leave after the bowl so we can move on.

He looks lost. He looks like he’s never seen man or zone coverage. He looks like he doesn’t know who his hot receivers are or his pressure release reads are. He looks like he started 2 weeks ago. It has to be mental. Not everyone is built to think quickly. I know lots of smart people-engineers, network design guys, architects-that will quickly put the brakes on a conversation and restructure…all because they think deeply and have many things to consider and need a process. DJ seems to simply not be capable of processing the required data in time to make a decision. It doesnt make him a bad person or inferior in any way, just different and maybe not meant for a career in football.
