DJ is limiting the O creativity. Period. Don’t blame Streeter.

Streeter gets blamed for the draw at midfield with a minute left and not being able to get the next #### play called. Not DJ’s missed throws or ineptitude at times.

DJ was a unanimous 5 Star, national championship-winning QB in high school that dominated passing camps (though he turned down the elite 11 to win that title) that experts and pro-QBs thought was a lock for a top 10 draft pick. He came in as a true freshman and in 2 games, threw for nearly 1,000 yards and 8 touchdowns with no picks, with a worse offensive line than we have this year. After spending more time with Streeter, his mechanics all greatly degraded and he's had the worst season for a QB in Clemson history statistically, passing Streeter for that honor. Whether or not Streeter will be a good offensive coordinator is unknowable (I don't see how he can fail upward and achieve competence, but I hope he does), but DJ's regression as a passer lies at Streeter's feet, just as all of our other QBs we failed to develop do. So I'll blame him as well, thanks.

Deshaun hired a private passing coach. Trevor definitely degraded in downfield passing mechanics and accuracy after his freshman year. It's why he threw so many turnovers, though Trevor's natural talent was so far through the roof that even Streeter couldn't ruin him.

Stupid is is stupid does. Trevor got better every year he was at Clemson. You guys don't know anything about football and it's embarrassing. DJ sucks. That's it, not the coaches fault. It is their fault that they didn't recruit enough QBs to have competition to beat him out

Wrong. This kid is inept. Average QB play this year would have us in the CFP. High school accolades and stat lines mean nothing. We’ve watch him play in 13 games this year and have seen very little improvement.

DJ is a headscratcher for sure. I remember when we had Willy Korn and after he got injured too many times he just lost his ability. He STILL played better than DJ after he was injured. I think DJs problems are all mental and not preparing right. He's about to be a junior so if he doesn't show anything in the offseason this is probably as good as he's going to get.

So it has nothing to do with having almost no healthy receivers?

whenever Cade becomes the starter sometime next year. It will finally be undeniable what the main problem was.
Here is a fact: Anytime a season-long problem is either all the receivers or the QB, it's always the QB.

DJ finishes the season completing 55% of his passes. With more interceptions than touchdowns. Rated 145th in the nation. Lost 2 games with pick 6s and threw another one with 7 minutes left to lose a lead where we were lucky to win in the final minutes.
I'm not sure what point of this season you saw a good quarterback.

Can we get past 2020?

Whatever DJ did those two games is completely irrelevant now. Sometimes guys have beginners luck. All I know is it didn't carry over.
His body of work over the entire 2021 season was awful. It demonstrated he has incredibly poor pocket presence, can't read defenses, is slow as molasses and is so inaccurate passing the ball it's downright scary.
My theory is the two games in 2020 made him overconfident, he didn't work on his game in the offseason and came to spring practice 20-25 lbs heavier. Then reality smacked him in the face.
The DJ of 2020 is gone! We had 13 games in 2021 to learn that.

DJ finishes the season rated 145 out of 150 in the nation. That is awful. It's not the receivers fault he stares down his priority target then panics and looks lost after that.

I think we are pretty limited at WR compared to years past.
