DJ Swearnger - I wonder.....

Why one of our offensive lineman did not knock him into the middle of next week. There is no way that thug would have shown up one of my players or my coach. I would have been penalized and probably kicked out of the game....but at some point you have to show your manhood that you are not going to get pushed around by those ########!!

Totally agree. Instead we let Meeks escort you out of bounds. We had opportunity last week to make some big hits but Thud tackling has made us soft.

Recruits are always saying Clemson has a family atmosphere, however if someone did that to a member of my family I would 've knocked the crap out of them.

Yep. Retaliation would have been instant and extreme. Let the penalty and ejection come, #### it.

at least Brandon Ford did get up in Clowneys face on the very last play when Clowney sacked and kinda stood over Boyd (from what I recall).

This board doesnt make any sense.
Last week people on here were calling for LB Townsend's head because he defended one of his teammates on a kickoff and got a 15 yard penalty.
That being said it was an 11 yard run and WE have no clue who saw what, so dont call out the oline for something WE have no clue about.

I bet you're a force at the local recreation field when coaching those 7-8 year olds, You get them Al Bundy.

When Ellington meekly walked off I really thought the game changed. Do I condone DJ's "celebration"? No, but that's the way he plays so you take the good and bad...he plays completely on emotion at times. I also don't think it makes him a "thug" no more than I think Deion Sanders and the like are "thugs".
Here's an article by one of our insiders on TBS who I respect and consider very impartial.

There is no mention of his suspension in that article

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't he suspended for helmet-to-helmet contact? Also, didn't he get three straight personal fouls in a game after that? And, if it is true that he was confronting Dabo Swinney on the sidelines, that is overstepping the boundaries of what is and isn't acceptable. Any bad blood involving a coach is to be handled by the other coach. It's equivalent to me, or anyone else, cursing out/confronting someone on the same level as my boss. I would be immediately fired. Tough, clean play is good. And, there is nothing wrong with 'jawing' at other players. Swearinger, or any other player, is not on the same level as a coach and doesn't need to assume that he has a 'right' to approach one on the sidelines.
