Down field passing

Why is it so hard for us to throw the ball down the field… any game you turn on and watch teams are able to throw the ball down the field and I’m not even talking about 50 yarders I’m talking about the 15-20 yard variety … even teams severely unmatched are able to and I just don’t understand how for almost 3 years plus now we have absolutely no down field attack at all, it makes no sense to me. Even if it’s not there just throw it up and see if a wr can make a freakin play man so the defense has something to think about … we make life so easy for opposing DCs and it’s maddening….I mean is it one or two thing or is it literally that we have missed so badly on so much talent and we have no clue coaching wise what we are doing on that side of the ball anymore ? Bc if you would have told me we had a new OC calling that game I wouldn’t have believed you

maybe it's WR coaching. We were the best, our coach left to be the HC of USF, we became one of the worst.

They were playing 2 safeties over the top all dayum night. You guys clearly know little about football. It’s hard to hit deep and intermediate passes when they play over the top coverage. It’s stupid to try. He tried early to 22 and the double coverage nearly intercepted it.

I was proud to see Riley diagnose that they were basically in a prevent defense. No safety help in the box. You have to pound the rock against that and be patient and take the underneath routes and we did. Up and down the field but did not score. That was the only issue. Learn some ball.

2 games in a row with red zone issues. Just a head scratcher on what is going on there. TL and DW were great in the red zone but the talent around them made a difference. I think this all still comes down to talent and coaching, like it always does.

So you’re telling me no one time were they in man with over the top coverage ? And if not you’re telling me they played an absolute flawless zone coverage the entire game to where we saw the same dink and dunk out the back field ? I get it the line didn’t pass pro great but come on man !!! I guess what you are saying is the blue print to shut us down is just run safety high coverage ?? Hahahah ok I’m not buying that… I’m no genius football coach but I do understand football and you aren’t gonna sit here and tell me that we can’t scheme some guys open down the field either in a man with back shoulder or something or timing stuff in zone … I’m not saying throwing fades down the field but if you run 4 wide with deep safety play there should be a lot more room underneath and I’m sorry but passing for 200 yards when we have all this talent is pathetic. Yes I understand that they were lent letting us go deep but you can still get a little more creative…

I dont understand why they didnt run more crossing routes and designed rollouts.

I don’t completely disagree with you. My point was It’s hard to hit deep balls (flys, deep fades, posts, etc.) when they have 2 safeties over the top, whether they are manned up or zoned underneath.

But I agree we have not shown the ability to throw back shoulder balls. We made a living off that with Deshaun. I also agree that crossing routes like the one they did hit to Brown for about a 25 yard gain shouldve been called more. But I will say Cade looked sketchy throwing over the middle. There could’ve been a few pics where we got lucky. They may have shied away bc of that? Also Cade gets happy feet and doesn’t step up in the pocket. He has the Kyle Parker disease where he feels phantom pressure and scrambles to the right sideline every time. We do not have the WR talent we need to run the air raid. I’m speculating that’s why Riley said it was going to be the dirt raid. He knows his only elite talent is at RB and that’s where the success will be. Just my opinions.

Just no. Tampa 2 is beatable. You can throw against 2 safeties. We are talking 15 yard throws. Our wrs are that bad and our oline is asieve
