he does that, before openings occur. It's called succession planning, something not many orgs or execs do but that all should do. Well oiled machines do it. Dabo does it.

this is the guy he has been grooming for this eventuality, then he has already done due dilligence, all bases are covered, and he doesn't need any more options - this is the plan. It's Dabo's decision - he doesn't owe due dilligence to anybody else. Having said that, while Dabo has earned some leeway, his job is always on the line. He understands better than anybody how important this decision is.
