Edgar's in the Student Union

Used to go to Edgar's in the early 80's. Does anyone remember a band called "#### Child's Guitar Army"? They played the best Lynyrd Skynyrd. Free Bird was my favorite.

Butch and the Buckheads was another great band that came to Edgars.

You're getting closer to my era. You probably saw Mountain Express Band there too.

I had a DCGA tee shirt, one of my fraternity brothers played base guitar in the band. Also remember the big Ed draft. We use to go before our intramural softball games to have a couple to get warmed up. Of course we did not win many games

The big cups were used because they could not serve pitchers. They were called "Big Ed's". The best band to play there were the Killer Whales.

Mostly do remember Edgars and the Guitar Army. The base player was probably Rusty. He and #### were friends back in the day and the best Halloween party I ever attended was at their place out on 88. Before the band was organized, I jammed with them too. Talk about good times. Would drop in and have a couple of wine coolers before class. Beer carried too much of a scent.. or so we thought. Low buzz during class... good times indeed.

you might not be a Clemson Grad. My roommate Dan was in a band that played there 2002, 2003, and 2004 ish. Something about that old part of campus is just so nostalgic

My dad admonished me to not join The Student Union... He must have thought it was like The Teamsters and we were going on strike and demand to be paid for going to class... I did not try to explain, just told him i would be "a good boy"...

I was in Edgar's watching MNF when the news broke that John Lennon had been shot. Some good, not-so-good, and...eh, "cloudy" memories of that place.

Had a mug behind the bar that got filled on the cheap via Tiger Stripe. Good randomness of crowd.

I remember going down to Edgar’s in 1983 to watch the television broadcast of “Living Proof - The Hank Williams Jr. Story” starring Richard “John Boy Walton” Thomas as Hank Jr. Edgar’s had a lens contraption that clamped onto the front of a cathode ray tube television and “projected” the picture onto a bedsheet they hung from the ceiling. Early ancestor of today’s projection televisions. Wasn’t exactly hi-def, but you could make out the picture if it was dark enough. Good times.
