Nah, no one will step in to say it's another ESPN conflict of interest.

Bookmakers should have 0 margin of error for Heisman winner odds since ESPN telegraphs their winner all season.

ESPN very much does have and has had a conflict of interest in recent years. Instead of simply reporting on sports they are determining narratives that wagers can be placed on. Betting just doesn't entail wins/losses, for the degenerates it also includes statistics, award ceremonies, postseason accolades, final rankings, etc. Influence from a major media network can most certainly swing the opinions of viewers and persuade outcomes. Perfect example of another overreach is the ESPN Coaches Poll, having influence on the weekly rankings/matchups can be huge for TV ratings.

like witchcraft and voodoo dolls, is that how they control the outcomes of games?

I am not saying I like the move, but it is not a conflict of interest any more than it is for them to cover the World Series of Poker. Do they influence the winners of that too?

You've got to take your blinders off and look at the bigger picture. Sportsbooks are preying on betters with that same gullible mindset. ESPN wouldn't get involved in this if the outcome didn't have significant financial benefits.

this hole sports betting thing is bad. Crime, points shaving, and incentives for officials are all now on the table. Its as if someone took all rules and commonsense and threw it out the windo to leave room to grab for every buck possible. We are rapidly getting to the point where we'd have to dig a hole to lower the bar any more.

There is absolutely no way ANY one or ANY entity connected directly to sports teams, players, etc. should be involved in sports gambling. No effffffing way. I don't trust those calling the games, either.

Is it bad that I can't tell if you're talking about sports our our entire world nowadays? Sadly the one is a microcosm of the other.

Exactly. It's a lack of moral clarity. It's like the world is being run by ten year olds. How our politicians have failed so miserably to have any conviction is beyond me. And the business folks don't care either. I can't wait for a big scandal and people write it off bc.. You know... They weren't treated right by the man. They deserve to 'get their bag'. They had a tough life. Nonsense.

Yup. It is called NIHILISM and it excludes all laws, rules, traditions, and common sense. It is one of the building blocks of Communism/Socialism where they tear down a society and all its foundations, then rebuild it in the Communist image. It has been well under way by the Radical Left in the world for many years.

I must be living in a bubble. Here in NC, once the betting became legal, we were inundated with ads on every social media platform. Apparently, there are a ton of people who believe they can beat the odds and actually win money betting the games over the long haul. Seems like the younger generation have lost their way in terms of how to build wealth. Kind of sad as one day they will wish they had that money when they are working at 75 instead of enjoying retirement.
