It's rain #######, and ESPN (who would be the first to mention a possible cancellation or delay) have only talked about it going down...don't feed into these idiots that keep talking crap about the weather, it's been worse and games have been played, let's focus on filling DV and showing the country what we're all about...and hopefully that's more impressive than the wussie #### ##### I've been reading on the message board, seriously. You'd think the entire board was filled with people going through menopause.

You do realize someone died in Spartanburg yesterday in your little bit of rain?
This is the baseball field behind my house in Clemson, at Ashley Dearing park. They closed berkely drive about 20 mins after I took this picture because it had about 18" of rain on it. All thought per NOAA central got 8-12" rain in the last 24h.
It's not that people are wussies as you put it, but some of them have a head on their shoulders. I for one will be at the game. Living only 3 miles from DV has it's perks

"All thought per NOAA central got 8-12"rain in the last 24h"
Oct 2, 2015, 8:16 AM
|

Maybe I'm misinterpreting this sentence...are you referring to Central, SC? Can you provide a link stating that Central, SC got 12-18" of rain over the past 24h? Weather.com and wunderground.com are reporting 0.9" and 1.1" "yesterday", respectively. NOAA?
I realize the rain is pretty significant, but I believe this apocalypse scenario has begun to snowball out of control.

Ticket prices are dropping like a rock...has a Clemson home game ever been postponed due to heavy rain?
Either way will make for some nasty tailgating.

Recent updates have the hurricane moving further east
Oct 1, 2015, 12:08 PM
|
|
And not coming ashore until New Jersey most likely. I don't think it's going to be nearly bad enough in Clemson to cancel the game.

Yeah, after I posted that I went and looked more at the forecast. I didn't realize the flooding wasn't tied to the hurricane. Man, it's going to suck if the game is cancelled / postponed.

Wouldn't ND have the advantage in soaking wet rainy weather with their all world RB.

Of course the hurricane is bring the rain. Where you getting your info ? There is a front that is picking up the moisture and dumping it on us. If the hurricane is not there we are not getting flooded jeez

Channel 4 guy on the radio just now said 17" worst case
Oct 1, 2015, 1:09 PM
[ in reply to Where are you getting 18 inches? ] |

4" best case, but I think he was talking about the entire Upstate region. He did clarify that the further west you go, the lesser amount is more likely. I think Charlotte/Spartang burg will get the 10"+, the Anderson/Clemson area more like 5".
Still ridiculous rainfall.

Weather Channel was showing the projections for the Euro and US model showing anywhere from 12-18in by Monday. The potential for flooding is all over the news....

That map shows Clemson out of the range of the storm. Last band cuts slightly past mid-state and looks good for the upstate. Hope that is accurate.

I really hope our turf scientists did their homework when installing the playing field. Even so, they are calling for possible record rainfall tomorrow and Saturday and since the game is a night game, we get the all day down pour. Pi$$ing on our Gameday experience and turning the game into "Swamp Bowl 2015".

Cancelling the game is an option, postponing is not
Oct 1, 2015, 6:17 PM
|
|
The only way to make up a game at a later date is if both teams share the same bye week. We have already had ours. This game would be impossible to make up, and since it is an out of conference game there would be no need to reschedule.

I am absolutely amazed at the attitude some have on this board in reference to this game. If it is cancelled, it is not the end of.the world. Alot are not realizing about road conditions traveling to and from Clemson from out of town. Gov. Haley put the whole state under a "State of Emergency" yesterday afternoon. The.amount of rain predicted to fall in the.upstate thru Sunday is insane. Before anybody slams anyone else's opinion, think if some one drowns in flooding or is killed.due to bad road conditions traveling to the game.
