Yeah, but I disagree that its not a good idea. Twitter

provides a way to reply to what these people like Chris Fowler say, which is something we couldn't do before.

but keep in mind THEY (media/espn) have all the power.......
Nov 21, 2012, 9:51 AM
|
|
they could spin this on national TV to make our fanbase look so bad if they wanted to.
heck it wasn't too long ago where ESPN made a comment of us storming the field after beating some no big deal team..............while WE know the truth............they didn't and turned a perception into reality breifly making us a laughing stock on national TV...........now i know that wasn't that big of a deal, but they can say anything they want on the TV if we tick them off.

If you continued that story you would have discovered ...
Nov 21, 2012, 11:11 AM
|
|
... that the public actually does have power.
Clemson fans, alumni, and school officials let ESPN know through various forms of social media and by simply contacting them that "storming" the field was actually school policy (and that we don't actually consider it "storming" the field, simply that we allow fans onto the field, some are just more exuberant than others). Several shows that week on ESPN ran stories in which they corrected their initial, incorrect judgement on what happens at Clemson after football games.

he's just saying they always go to games with BCS title implications, and ND can be in the BCS Championship while the winner of Clemson/SC can't.

was there another game with title implications?
Nov 21, 2012, 11:06 AM

There's no conspiracy against Clemson out there. If things are as Fowler says they are, they simply want to choose a game with title implications that will also be a big game. USC is depleted, but ND/USC should still be pretty competitive. With the WRs USC has, just about anybody could throw to them.

Many high ranked teams playing inferior opponents just like
Nov 21, 2012, 11:13 AM
|
|
this week's #1 ND vs. 7-4 USC. In that week of 2010, #8 Ohio State, #7 Wisconsin and #3 TCU played inferior teams. They didn't go to any of those games.
So, for that week they chose to travel to a much more interesting game where two teams, #9 and #13 were playing instead of choosing the game with title implications. That's what they should have done this week.

The ND game has much larger implications. After 1, 2 and 1 have lost two consecutive weeks in a row, its also a bigger ratings draw.

So lemme get this straight, GameDay is going to the final regular season Notre Dame game (because those pansies don't want to join a conference and have a conference championship game) to expose them vs. ESecPN's beloved and season-long-overrated USC trojans (minus Matt Barkley I might add) instead of an in-state rivalry game between two top 10ish teams?

If anything, they should have Gameday...not us. They're as big of rivals, larger names than both of our schools and are both ranked higher than us.
I don't understand why there was any thought we should get Gameday. I'd obviously love to have it but we never should have thought they'd consider us.

Notre Dame vs. USC Rivalry is considered a more storied rivalry than Clemson-SC.
Both programs have larger national profiles, whereas SC-CU is just a state/regional rivaly.
Notre Dame is number 1 in the BCS standings.
Los Angeles is the number 2 media market.
Makes sense to me,

College Gameday is part of ESecPN's BUSINESS Plan. They are all about MONEY ONLY. Most announcers associated with the network has ONE AGENDA. THAT IS TO INSURE AN ALL SEC TITLE GAME. That's why they are in Los Angeles. To fire up the home team to pull the upset, so that their plan will come true.
