Morris: "It stinks"
Chad Morris said what all Clemson fans would have been thinking following the 31-17 loss to South Carolina Saturday night - committing six turnovers and losing to your arch-rival stinks. Full Story » |

Morris wouldnt use him that much. Reminds me of Bowden pulling Merriweather when he was running all over the coots.

Morris is known for aggressive play - that's what got us where we are. If it had worked everyone would be praising him. I agree that he should have stuck with the running game but that's just Monday morning QB'ing. Live by the sword, die by the sword - and don't play the blame game.

AMEN...we were running it down their throats and then screwed it all up on a trick/gimmick play that was not needed at that point in time...we only fired them up. All coot fans were quiet and stunned in disbelief since we were going right down the field on them. STUPID CALL!!! Now only if our DC BV can stop the QB draw!

No #### Sherlock! Way to say "all the right things". Man this crap gets old. "We have to move on", "We'll fix it", yet nothing really gets fixed. It only gets masked by playing weak competition on the schedule that's sandwiched between beat downs and epic chokes to good teams.

out. What is Morris suppose to say we suck, we were given every win this season. We did not win 10 games we showed up and the other team laid down. These guys put more time and effort into 1 practice than any of you big mouth fat a$$ couch potatoes. If you have the answers get out there and coach or play, if not SHUT UP.

Well just keep pulling for your coots. And when you want to talk chit about a coach, talk about yours and his alcohol problem. And some of us will pray for him before he destroys his liver, if he hasn't already. From the looks of his skin, he has been a heavy drinker for a long while....

"You can't win when you turn the ball over that much, blah, blah, blah. It hurts, we have to move on, blah, blah, blah." Chad, when your offense turns the ball over six times you may not want to stay away from cliches and just say, "We sucked tonight and got our ##### handed to us."

He's got the losers on Tigernet to say all that crap for him. In the meantime, he'll be busy getting his offense ready for a bowl game and getting the young guys some work in the bowl practice sessions. But by all means, you guys just keep on spewing your hate and bitterness. I'm sure it's helpful---in some way.

Still waiting to hear why we had to get all tricky when we were moving the ball just fine on the first drive.. Turn it over and lose the game ala FSU...just stick to the basics and leave the tricks to the high school teams...

"It stinks," pretty much describes his playcalling for this game as well. I don't want to hear about how hard they played...So did South Carolina and their results speak volumes. Talent at the wide out and we run QB draws. Putrid.

The fear of "game coot nation" all last week that the Tigers would run the ball like the Gators. Why did Morris abandon the run? He is a control freak . Needs to turn Boyd loose. He is a 5 th year senior. He can go to the line and check into plays. Too much ######. The best offense of the night when it was the hurry up.

Let's talk about turnovers.
David Hood reports in his article today Clemson has had 15 turnovers versus 3 from Carolina over these last 5 rivalry games.
Four turnovers against Fl St in October.

Play high school football get high school results. Carolina played ball control. Clemson played catch-up. Boyd great. Homer Jordan took Clemson to a national title. That is the sign of a great QB

to call a trick play on the first drive of the game when you have them on their heels? Or why he refuses to stick with a running game

he was gashing them. Does Morris hate running backs? Why did he not get the ball 30 times? If it's working, keep doing it until they stop us. Success running the ball opens up the pass....duh

Yes it stinks! A little perspective may help. Clemson is a small school in a very small town in a small state but is competing with the likes of Ohio State, USC, Texas,Alabama,Ucla and Notre Dame. Consistently competing with these teams. I think that is amazing! Dabo may not be (and I'm not saying it) as brilliant as Urb or Nick be he has created a program without the advantages they have.....and as far as I can tell he is doing it "the right way". An amazing feat if you ask me. I'm happy if they can be consistently competitive and I know we will beat SC and Fl St. It hurts to lose to them but I'll take this team any day. Thank you Dabo

Florida Game Footage

I know many have already touched on this...but did we not watch the Floriday/USuC game footage??? The fact we even tried to throw the ball much less some BS trick play is beyond something I can even imagining doing. The better team did not win Saturday night. That USuC team is not good. We are good. We played off emotion like we've done many times over the years. Tajh plays off emotions sometimes. We were tight...AGAIN! And come on, 3rd and long, from my couch I knew one of the major plays the chickens were gonna run being a quarterback draw. God forbib if we end up playing Bama in the orange bowl and come out tight and play off emotions. It'll be another WVU, 2013 FSU, and 5 years in a row to the chickens all wrapped up in to one game. 5 years in a row...come on. Let's get real. This is ridiculous. Beginning to think that just maybe some (players & coaches) don't realize how important this game is and winning this rivalry is.

The picture of Tajh being stripped of the ball by
Dec 2, 2013, 3:11 PM

the coot player, shows Tajh holding the ball WITH ONE FREAKIN' ARM! Aren't they taught to cover it with TWO ARMS when being tackled?
Let's just face facts here sports fans, Tajh chokes in BIG GAMES! He played well against LSU, but against FSU and USuC, he has just played terrible! Turnovers and sacks of his making, out the wazoo. His draft status has gone way down IMO, because pro teams don't want a choker in big games on their team.
I'll bet right now that Stoudt, Kelly or Watson will not choke near as bad as Tajh does in big games. No matter which one is playing. He just plays tight, for whatever reason, he puts too much pressure on himself to make big plays, when sometimes checkdowns would do. Even Coach Morris said so.

There's one reason--and only one reason--we lost this game...turnovers. And that's not the coaches' fault. I'm not a fan of trick plays in general, but that was hardly the tipping point. We had two turnovers on special teams. Neither Dabo, the Chad, or Venables are out there fielding punts so you can't put those on the coaches. Those were the ones that really hurt. We lost two possessions and gave them two on a short field. If not for our defense playing hard, the score could have been a lot worse. Clemson is a team that plays off emotion. That's what we do. We're not a pounding, power-I team. We thrive off of aggressive, high-risk plays with high returns. But as somebody pointed out earlier, live by the sword, die by the sword. Morris gets criticized real harshly when he calls a conservative game, so you can't blame him when he calls an aggressive game. To his credit, he stuck with McDowell, and that would have worked really well had we not turned it over 6 times. That's 6 possessions gone. Not the coaches' fault. Bottom line, it seems our players executed a game plan pretty well, but completely failed at the basic fundamentals. The players play the game, not the coaches.
